Thanks. I like it a lot too, surprised how hard it makes the transmission work though. Ill probably have an aftermarket cooler installed before next winter.

Nice, I like to play in the snow, better when its gone though. Cool Moab.

So last Saturday I put on my Bestop Sunrider top, and got out the deck furniture. Monday I drove home from work with the Sunrider open. Yesterday, this happened!

I was driving home from the gym and it was snowing. I thought to myself what the fuck am I doing here? I could go home, hook up the camper and head south. Then I remembered that my wife was at work and she has about 85 working days before she retires and if I bolt south right know, she will be pissed. So I drove home and played Call of Duty in Zombie mode.

I missed the big snow we had, so I had to take advantage of this one and play in snow a bit

How or why did it get stuck?
Those are good questions. There are several reasons related to driver errors, primarily, and conditions secondarily.

How: I was fully loaded with camping gear & my 3 adult children. I had not aired down my tires for extra flotation. I hit this remnant snow drift at about 15mph. It was warm, and the snow was heavy, wet, and soft. My speed and momentum carried me a good 20 feet into the drift & left my Jeep resting on the skids & frame with all 4 tires spinning. If I had been going faster, I could have blasted all the way through the drift. Much slower, and I would have been able to take multiple, controlled attempts, plowing snow as I went. The winch I had recently bought was still in my garage rather than installed.

Why: we were cruising around the forest roads trying to find an alternate route to our campsite for the weekend. My maps showed that we were only a couple miles from our intended destination.

Before driving into the snow drift, I told my kids that if I try to drive through it, I'll probably get stuck. I wasn't worried since I thought I had a shovel in the back (left at home by mistake). Worst case, we could always just camp there for the night. We partially unloaded and dug out in about an hour and all had a good laugh.
