I couldn't agree more-my favorite mod of all. Takes 5 seconds to open or close so I open up way more often than when I just had the Freedom panels. I do put the panels back on for the winter, but winter in northern Maine is long. I think the Sunrider could handle the snow but when clearing...
Could be a solution for some applications. Just make sure the wire is fuse-protected and well armored. The insulation could rub on the edge of the floor sheet metal and wear through, causing a short and fire if not.
Absolutely correct. I broke a set of pushrods in my harley in knoxville on the way to the dragon. Was with a group and my parents. Got the bike hauled to a dealer. The group took off. Several hours later bike was back alive and ran the dragon w my parents instead of 11 bikes. Yes i was pissed i...
That is one of the first mods I did on my Sport (after a trailer hitch/wiring and Weathertech floor mats). The filler panels look dorky. I wondered if it would alter the aerodynamics and affect the MPG, but I didn't notice any difference.
Unfortunately. The drive-by-wire throttle is necessary to allow traction control to work, but I sure hate rev hang. When I stomp on the gas to do donuts in a snowy parking lot, then let off, it seems like 5 seconds the engine is racing with the clutch disengaged.
Not goofy at all. Vegetable oils are used as plasticizers. I worked in the plastics industry for a few years. Our plant used soybean oil in some products.
I saw a video a couple years ago (Jeep Gear and Gadgets) where she used peanut butter to restore the appearance of faded black plastic...
Living on the Canadian border, with gas over there nearly double what it is here, I see a number of compact SUV's set up like that, with KO2's or similar, light bars, and roof racks. A lot cheaper to run than a full size pickup or SUV.
That's very similar to the swap we made 2 years ago, a 2018 JLU Sport for a 2003 Liberty. We had our Liberty for 17 years. I liked the Liberty but I love the Wrangler!
Manual XJ's are tough to find period. Back in 2000 I went to a large dealer in southern NH and they had no manual Cherokees on the lot. I asked a salesman if he would be able to find/order one for me and he just said "No." I was like, "OK, have a nice day." In all my years of peeking in...
I'm not a fan of the angry bird grills either. This reminded me of a video on Jeep Gear and Gadgets a couple years ago. Cassie had seen a tip to use peanut butter to restore the appearance of plastic trim. She tried it and it worked reasonably well. I used to work in the plastics industry...
Even in the North, the cold takes a little getting used to. In September, 40 degrees does feel pretty chilly after the heat of the summer. But then come April, on a sunny 40 degree day we'll go out in our t-shirts.
My work-around on the Liberty was to put it in 4-Low and Reverse or 1st when I parked on a hill. Working backwards against that much reduction gearing, the tires aren't likely to be able to turn the engine. As long as it doesn't pop out of gear :)
Oh no, you got me started on Jeep e-brakes! My 2003 Liberty e-brake barely worked when I drove it off the lot brand new, and just went downhill from there. And I was constantly having trouble with it sticking even though it barely held the vehicle. My JLU e-brake holds just fine, but is...
That's an awesome idea. That drives me crazy on my Jetta trying to get the jack stands in place while it's up on the floor jack. I tried jacking it up using the suspension arms but discovered that they are too flimsy.
