I was on vacation for a few days and locked the Jeep up before I left. Get back home and it's as dead, had to unlock the door manually, screen/guages are dark, nothing comes on and it won't start. I have a commercial charger/crank like a shop would use that shows volts and amps. When I attached it to the +- battery terminals, all shows good. I then turn the charger on, to the lowest level trickle type charge setting, and immediately the Jeep comes back to life and cranks right up (you can tell the it's getting good voltage/amps by how hard and quickly the starter engages). It's almost like there was an electrical disconnect, relay or something that needed a little bump from the charger to "wake" everything back up? I have since gone back several times to check and it starts right up again. I have the <1yr old Genesis dual-battery set up with AGM batteries. My fear is being out alone camping, like I often do, and being up sh#* creek.
Has anyone else had this happen, or heard of it happening?
TIA

Sounds fuse related. the one for the instrument cluster would be the first one to check
Thanks for the reply. As it turns out, the batteries were completely drained over a 3 day period. I charged them up completely. Now researching finding a way to check for contant voltage/amperage draw.

Was gone a week for spring break and my battery was dead. My dashcam was powered via the OBD port. While I was unable to confirm,it appears to have been the culprit

I left my Oct 2018 built JLUR (OE battery system and batteries at the time) for a 2 week vacation to France in July 2019. Came home to a Jeep that started and ran.

As always, start by blaming yourself. Either for leaving something on, or for installing something that caused a drain.

it’s not a loose freaking fuse, some day this myth will die and I hope I am here to see its death.

I left an OBD reader connected and it kept waking the jeep and killed the battery. Removed it. No problems since.

The OBD has little draw but the jeep waking up every 3 minutes killed the batteries in a few days.

I agree. Turns out both batteries were completely drained. I charged them back up, ran my 12v fridge all night long, and it cranked right up the next morning. I also disconnected the negative after recharging and lightly touched the battery post and there was no arc, so nothing pulling constant amperage as far as I can tell. I must have left something on.

That's disturbing. I thought with the Genesis system the batteries would be disconnected if the voltage fell below 12.7?
This is the reply I received from Genesis.
"There is nothing in the kit that will prevent power from leaving the batteries. That is typically a function of the accessory or an accessory controller, so we designed the kit for the customer to be able to take as much power out of their battery as they need. The cranking battery is always powering the fuse box, and as a result all of the factory circuits. The accessory battery will power anything that is connected to the busbars."
