On the left is Rick Pewe, and on the right is David Freiburger. Both were editors who worked on some of the great off-road magazines at the turn of the century when they were read by countless Jeepers. Petersen's 4-wheel and Off-road, JP magazine, and Fourwheeler. David is recognized now for his part in the success of the Motor Trend channels Roadkill show. Rick and David both have an aversion to wearing "normal" socks and shoes. With them even welding in sandals on occasion. Rick was even highly influential in getting the Rubicon trim to come to fruition from some of the rumors that I've heard.

Search You Tube for the Roadkill episode where Rick and David bring this Wagoneer back from the dead. That is some good TV...

These two are the ones that did a lot of the things that are now shows on the Motor Trend channel/app, well before internet shows were even an idea that people had. They had articles about dirt every day, and going to places and making junk work enough to make it home roadkill style, way back in the day.

While getting ready to leave for a beach trip with my in laws for the first time, my mother in law said she had to grab her thongs. I pulled my wife aside and told her I wasn't going. She had to explain that what I call flip flops, her mother calls thongs.
