What are door sill guards for?
They look nice, and that’s about it. (At least on my 2 door - no one ever steps on them, but I suppose the intended purpose is prevent slipping with wet shoes.)

If you are ordering a hard top, I would order a Harkin Hoist from eBay to remove the hard top. If you have enough floor space in your garage get a scap of carpet to place your doors on. If not, check this forum out for ideas on how to hang the doors on the garage walls. And you must order body mount mirrors for when you remove the doors.

Any recommendations for brand of sunshade for JL drivers? Big difference in price between Alien and JTops...bungie system vs. neoprene padded buckles? Magnetic front windshield attachment vs. bungie...so many decisions!

Will the MORE Dead Pedal work with a manual tranny? Seems like there is no room in the footwell to install that with the clutch pedal there.

JTOPS for me after I had all other sunshades. The quality, fit and finish are what sold me on the JTOPS. However, takes a month or longer to ship due to the high demand.

I think it would be too tight. It has 3 different positions with the furthest one being almost to the firewall, but I would still worry about it jacking with the throw of the clutch.

Wow, not one word about real essentials, like a good first aid kit, potable water, etc. Stuff that can be the difference between life or death, especially if you're on a long trip or exploring off the beaten path.

Essentials for 4x4'ing?
  • A winch (or someone in your party having one)
  • Winch accessories (tree strap, tow line, snatch block, gloves)
  • Fire extinguisher
  • First Aid kit
  • Shovel
  • Sat radio (like a Garmin inReach) if going out of cell service range
  • Camping or survival gear (cold weather or extreme heat) based on where you are going
  • Water and food (Military style MRE''s are great for this) and a few gallons of water)
Essentials for looks or personalization?
  • Bikini top or sunshade
  • Rock guards or side steps
  • Rear cargo area and / or center console locking storage
  • Floor mats
  • Door sill guards
  • Wheels and tires
  • Leveling kit or lift

The simple and easy first things:

Flashlight/fire suppression holders
Rubber mats
Door sill protection
Rock rails or nerf bars
Ditch the factory wheels
Stubby antennae
Mirrors for doors off
Tint front windows
Gas cap

Then we go suspension, tires, and anything that fits that you want to do with it.

Basically, just drop your wallet into bucket and assume your paycheck is gone.
As it regards gas caps I'll assume @Shooting or Jeeping meant a locking one.

As it regards locking ones, there are 2 types. One that comes with a key, and a more expensive one you configure to work with your rig key.

I highly recommend the latter. You won't miss the price difference across the life of the rig.

Don't even think of retooling the device's cylinder though (unless you're a locksmith) until you've carefully watched this. It's not hard, but there is DEFINITELY a no wing it learning curve--and you get one shot to get it right, which if you "play by the rules" should not be a problem.

When our area had a gas shortage a few years ago, theft was a concern. A Jeep is a rolling fuel depot with an exposed access point. So yes, get the cover AND a locking gas cap.

O.P. my recommendations are tailored to what I can glean about your use of the rig from prior posts here, that I otherwise don't see:

A 2" receiver hitch and at least a 4 pin connector, in fact THIS 4 pin connector, if you don't have one already https://www.etrailer.com/Custom-Fit...nlimited/2018/118782.html?vehicleid=201869583 where you go directly to the battery for your positive, assuming you don't have this from the factory already.

One of these, unless you want to sit with the MOPAR rachet all day:

https://www.harborfreight.com/48-volt-14-in-cordless-screwdriver-kit-61826.html

A tub liner to not let all the gear you are going to put in there destroy it:

Oh, and a nuclear powered accelerator. Just don't cross the streams.;)
