Vast majority of people don't drive more than 20 miles or so a day. It is the perfect range for an around the town jeep. If you need to go further then you obviously have the gas engine.

I own a 392XR that I daily drive. I rarely drive more than 20 miles a day. I love my 392, but if Jeep offered a 4XE performance version where the 0 to 60 was similar to my 392, I'd be on it in a heart beat as it would save me a ton on gas but still keep all the acceleration giggles.

Electric is far superior to ICE in practically ever measure of performance except sound and range. However, the range is really not an issue for 99% of people in reality because they rarely ever drive outside of the usable range.

I do agree that I don't like govt mandates but that is another topic. Most people who experience electric usually will prefer electric. ICE feels downright antiquated by comparison.
I think average mileage sits around 12k a year. divide by 52 weeks - 230 a week, 5 day work week - 46miles a day.

I do more like 22k and my wife does about 14k.

The bullshit is where people pretend the weight negatively affects performance, or as some claim dead weight.
Hahahaha look who's assuming

Pssst regen means your are using the mechanical brakes far less than a regular gas Wrangler.

Suspension and other equipment is beefed up accordingly, kinda like equipment on Rubicon vs a Sport.

I must be part of that supposed 1% since the vast majority of miles on mine are beyond the range of most EVs. Yeah, some of us are fortunate enough to no longer do that WTF commute, but still manage to put about 24k miles a year on their Jeeps.

You just might be. There are some people where EVs won't make sense. The point though is that statistically, the vast majority of car buyers would benefit from an EV and range should be a non-issue. Yes, there are people who drive 100 mile commutes or have other use cases that are far outside of the norm. In those cases, by all means stick with ICE.

It might be. I was just talking generally, not trying to be overly specific. The point is really that majority of people don't need huge range for an EV to be practical based on actual driving habits.

My 392 will be two years old in May. I will probably be at 30,000 miles. However, that number is inflated as I do several 1500 mile road trips a year. I rarely drive more than 20 miles a day under normal circumstances.

There are also some of us that have a zero mile commute, and just go gallivanting daily for over an hour within the range, plus other daily low mileage trips school runs, free mall charging ?

Not exactly sure what a video with two old shitty Bimmers has to do with real world Wranglers, but here are two real world Wranglers in action, for a more direct comparison, which I think is what you wanted to show.

You obviously have an agenda and I'm done with you. Welcome to my ignore list.

Jeep and Dodge are hardly leading the march for vehicles on the lot….and two of the most quoted for sitting on lots, Charger and 300, aren’t even in production for 2024…so who would rush out to get those? Anyway….

You can see the slowest selling by State here: https://www.iseecars.com/slowest-selling-cars-by-state-study
A survey showing the slowest selling car by state doesn't really show the overall picture.
Nevermind that these rankings were for just the month of October of 2021.

My beef with EVs is the batteries. When they wear out it's a $30k replacement. That's like 2 Hemi swaps. I've owned too many laptops, I've read too many horror stories. They only make sense for folks with disposable income or people who lease. I'm neither of those.

Hopefully you realize that the video you posted was irrelevant. Unless, of course, you're thinking that the guy that removed all that weight from his Mercedes didn't touch the engine. And, of course, you think that the 8-ish second 0-60 AMG was competitive.

My dealer has an enormous amount of 4XEs we're having trouble moving. Seems to be the case with all the carb states. Yeah the 4XE is cool and all, but man those sales numbers have to be inflated when they're the only jeep offered at your local dealer.

I'd wager sales would be better with a good variety of ICE and 4XE wranglers on lots rather than 4XE only.
