Jeep Could Really Learn Something from Slate

Is the fact that they wanted you to do a lease relevant at all to why you've been trying to buy a Jeep for five years and keep failing? Just trying to figure out why you keep mentioning it. It seems to be as relevant as the type of coffee they had.

Its the first thing asked. And the first toggle on the website with the default set to lease.
Then go through the build, click check inventory and all it shows is station wagons. No way in no where did I click that I wanted a station wagon.

They're trying to push what they want, not what I want.

Oh, you're complaining that there are options you don't like and you're seemingly angry about the defaults. You know you can select "buy" and "2-door", right? Jeep's builder doesn't normally comport with reality, but that part is simple enough for most of us to grasp.

I'm not angry at all, just want to buy a Jeep. Its fun, I like it its got me in and out of some tight places.
Hmm, might want to re read. Not only have I talked to dealers and gone through the web site. I toggle 2dr and toggle buy then try to build what I want. When done I toggle check inventory. I started with 2dr (its what I want) and it rarely shows me one. And if it does its usually after 30 or 40 station wagons. And again asks me about leasing.

I don't want either, just want a jeep.

Why are you searching inventory? Simply have one built to your specs (limited by the combinations that they're currently offering).

Never said I was rich or said I had a butler (I don't) I just made the funds available and they weren't doing anything. So I put it to work and did .... well!

I know what I want to buy not interested in what they want me to lease.

I walked in, told my salesman exactly what I wanted and it was delivered in 8 weeks. Shit wasnt that hard.

Exactly. Hopefully it goes the same this time around. The hardest part is waiting for it to go from Scheduled to In Production!

Oh I screwed up, I should have bought right before the start stop nonsense. What a nightmare that's been.
Now I'm wanting to beat the possible 4cyl & 6cyl Vega engines. There will be neither of them in my driveway (well at the dealer, sounds like that's were they spend most of the time).

Wasn't start stop introduced with the JL? Are you saying you should have bought a JK?

Just get a 392 and be done with it.

Exactly! I can't because the system doesn't allow it. Like I said in an early post, I believe there was 2 times for 6 weeks each that I could have ordered what I wanted. But I missed it.

Maybe if you actually told us what you want instead of complaining about what you don't want, we might commiserate. I would say 60-70% of my wheeling buddies have 2 doors so it isn't that you can't get a two door so it just leaves us guessing and then we get frustrated because you are just repeating the same complaints. Frustrated people and you repeating yourself is only going to annoy everyone.

……this sounds like a skill issue. Maybe watch a YouTube video on how to use the jeep website? If you can manage to work YouTube without “being forced” to watch a bunch of ads from the sidebar because that’s what they want you to do that is.

It was right there at the overlap when I start thinking about it (and that was before I experienced it). And out of the two I want nothing to do with e torque... we had nightmares with them. And again there was a few time I could get an automatic with V6 without etorque, I just missed it.

Can't get a 392 in a jeep. I don't need it, don't really want it. I'm satisfied with how the V6 performs. Would I buy it if it was available... idk

Even if the 5.7 was available, I would rather that over the 392. But they are both more then I need. Then how much would the dealers be charging extra and above for it. Paying more then sticker is just silly!

Am I going to keep hanging around, probably not. If nothing to my liking comes from this 12 four 12. I'll be content with what I have.
There will be no Vega engines in my jeep.

Nearly 5 years and over 600 posts on a JL forum with no Jl…nothing odd about that.
