Why in the heck does the instrument panel dimmer adjustment go from full bright to really dim and then just give you control over how dim it will go?!? :swear: :whatsgoingon:Where is the control between full bright and dim??? I don't get it... :computerrage: The first dim step is the dimmest I would ever want it, I don't need infinite control over the dim level after that. I DO need control between full brightness and dim though... :headbang:

Mine is the same way. The bright click is glaring bright but just below that is too dim for my liking. There's no real "in-between" adjustment. So I run mine with the instrument cluster, drive selector and radio illuminating the whole interior cabin.

Play around with it. It does give you full control.

The brightest setting is the day setting, optimized for being visible in bright sunlight (i.e. with the headlights off). The dinner settings are for normal night use. If they're too dim, then Jeep hosed up; perhaps this is a new function for the Tazer JL?

Oh trust me I have. I'm very OCD and I've tweaked with it a lot and no matter what I do I don't have any control between full "daytime brightness" and the first "night dim" setting. I'm hoping it's just a problem with my Jeep and It can be remedied by the dealer. Let me know if any of you are experiencing the same issue. It's driving me a little nuts...

So is this normal or is there something wrong with my switch?

It sounds like your switch is working fine, just not to your liking. A properly working switch has daytime setting, and a variable nighttime setting.

Mine does same. It’s the most useless switch next to the other dimmer switch right next to it.

I think you're right... When driving at night I just wish there was some adjustability between bright-as-f#ck and "are the dash lights even working?" :movember: Anyway... I guess I'm done pissing in the wind for now... Until next time, sleep well my fellow Jeepers... :like:

When I got my Jeep back in April, this bothered me as well. I felt the brightest nightime selection was too dim. But, after about a week I was used to it and it now seems fine.

Same here, there's seems to be no happy middle ground. Other than my backup camera working 40% of the time, the dimmer is my only gripe and a petty one at that
