And I can't exactly condemn the probably non-existent Slate, I was trying to get one of these.

Another vaporware vehicle. But it was a cool idea!
Oh man, that brings back some memories. I did some design/layout work for Elio's "showroom" at the Sundance Film Festival for a couple years. I liked the concept too, but it always seemed like a lot of hype and advertising money instead of actual production planning.

I was absolutely shocked to see the Vanderhall Brawley actually testing next to their factory a few years ago. Even more shocked to start seeing production models running around.

Look at how many threads there are in this forum debating if the Rubicon X includes the tow hitch and the auxiliary switches. Read them and you will see how many owners thought it did, but when they got their vehicles id did not. And how many dealers gave them the wrong info, and ordered messed up the ordering. Then read the desperation of owners trying to source the parts to install aftermarket. I still don't know the answer to the question. Best I can tell is that the Rubicon X includes the Trailer Tow Prep Package, but not the actual hitch. I it is insane. I believe you have to add a $95 option to actually get the actual hitch and switches. It is so messed up. That is just one minor example.
For the 2 doors Rubicon X the tow package shows as available. And on the build and price it is actually the only option and when you click the detail "I" button it shows you what it includes . Anything else I can help with?

Jeep could learn something from a new start up company that has never sold or produced anything .... yea ok
…and experienced multiple delays and price increases above the publicly advertised pricing before even selling a single vehicle.

I was a big fan of Slate when they announced their original "under 20k" price. Now it's going to end up being at least 30k with taxes for a base Slate with 150 miles range (in perfect conditions).
That around $20K pricing always had an asterisk next to it that depended on application of the then $7,500 EV tax credit. Now that has sunset, yeah, the price jumps considerably.

I think my annoyance is they knew that. The credit was always going to go away and they launched with their big "20k announcement" anyway.

Speculative assumption but in the end, still marketing.
