Anyone else get this? Haven't even had time to read the whole thing yet, but seems pretty cool.

I still consider myself a newbie, so might learn something and have some fun with other jeepers.

A single-day Rubicon trip? That's pretty weird. I'm guessing you'd do an out and back?

The concept could be great for people that are just starting out.

Looks fun but $500 is a bit much for the Austin class. The off-roading school near me is only $250 and the other $250 isn’t worth it for the “merch”. I can buy 10 slightly irregular Jeep hats off Temu for $25.

Exactly, a year pass to Uwharrie here is $35 and a day pass is $5 yet they want $500 for a single day of instruction? Feels excessively steep, at least with these they dont charge per person in your Jeep like they do with the Jamborees

I did this last year in Vermont and it was very well run. I think we paid $200 total for driver and passenger. Definitely would not pay $500 if that is what they are charging now.

I did the Moab trip 1st of Nov. It was fun but very basic. Great for someone to learn but not worth it if you have experince.

The instructures spoke about the jamboree trips. Those sound like a lot of fun but are more expensive than the Academy Trips.
The crazy thing is the Jamboree trip for Uwharrie here in NC is only $375 per adult and runs 3 days over multiple properties so the value just isnt there for the academy at $500 for 1 day.

I did the Rubicon one last year. It was a great learning experience. There were people of all abilities, probably about half were newbies. You start at the Loon Lake Trailhead go through gate keeper, the granite bowl, granite bowl steps, have lunch and watch recovery demos, then back out through gate keeper. The spotters and guides are great and very informative, many of them have been doing the trail multiple times a year for many years.

The Jeep Jamboree trips are a blast, but they're not sitting there teaching you the basics that you apparently get with this. I've done Jeep Jamboree Moab and the Jeep Jamboree Rubicon Trail Expedition. Highly recommended..

2024 prices are jacked up for all Jamborees and academies

I have done them twice. If you are nervous and have no connections to offroading, its great and gives you confidence to become more involved. I did the second one with my niece. My wife, niece and I have been hooked ever since. I could not imagine doing a Jamboree without doing this 1st.

The Austin trip, as I understand it, includes the price of access to a private ranch in the hill country west of Austin. That ranch, if it's the one I'm thinking of where Jeep has had events before, has a great deal of granite terrain on it. Almost a mini Moab. It's only about 65 miles from here, and I would enjoy having access to it, but that price is too steep. For $250 I might think about it just to wheel that place. But I would hate waiting in line for those are timid or freightened going before me.

How much is it to rent the ranch for a day? Might be worth finding a facebook group and getting a few guys together to split it.

I don't know what the cost is, you have to inquire. Access dates are very limited. Technical off roading isn't allowed. Hidden Falls is nearby and is a better option for off road.

Ahh so its a climbing ranch that Jeep throws a bunch of money at to let them use for a Jamboree that makes sense.
