With the Jeep nation continuing to grow and drawing more and more of the uninitiated and inexperienced, we need a list of “basics” to help our new brothers and sisters on the path to enlightenment. Discussion is healthy but let’s not devolve into 2 vs 4 door or manual vs auto.
I’ll try to keep the original updated, and as OP I reserve the right to edit/summarize/add as needed. Let’s go:

1) Don’t call your Jeep a car, God kills a kitten every time you do - me
2) Check the tire pressure on your new Jeep, they are consistently overinflated from the factory - me
3) If you are getting flashed at night, adjust your headlights down. Doesn’t matter that they’re not on bright. if you are blinding other drivers, they are set wrong - me
4) Check that all your fuses are seated properly, they are notoriously loose from the factory - GreyFox
5) Don't think you have to be classified as either a rock crawler or a mall crawler - there are many uses for our beloved Jeeps - higbyz
6) Wave dammit! Don't leave me hangin'! - geem03
7) Check your oil level if you get oil changes done at the dealer. Some are still putting in 6 quarts (JK requirement) instead of 5 (JL requirement) - SecondTJ
8) Park next to other Jeeps, even if you can find a better spot. You may make a friend. - cOTTER
9) Be nice to non-Jeepers. They may be envious and your attitude may be the difference in them joining the club or no - cOTTER
10) If your Jeep has that wandering feeling in the steering - see #2, see if you have an open V41 recall for the steering stabilizer, take it to dealer, check torque on all steering and suspension components, or just live with it. No silver bullet here - Roky
11) Do some homework before starting a thread. Search the forum or The Google...chances are your question has already been asked, discussed, and answered eleventy times. Notice how something happens as you start a new thread...identical posts appear at the bottom....like....magic! (this was too good not to quote verbatim) - melendez69
12) Lower your insurance deductible for comprehensive or get a windshield specific provision. Due to rake, your windshield is more prone to impact and damage - viper88
13) Your soft top is fine in the winter, the Jeep heater is a beast. But DO NOT use a scraper or brush on your soft top windows - you will damage them - ads75
14) You will experience excessive wind noise on the highway, rain will run onto your leg from the top gutter....this is life - Slowpoke
15) Yes, include the spare in the rotation. No, don't argue. Just do it - LowCountry
16) When wheeling off road - do not offer spotting advice unless asked. The driver may have already picked a line or may be confused by conflicting directions. Also this may make a certain member from Texas harm a cute, innocent, furry little rabbit - UKCATS
17) DO NOT "test" your 4 hi or 4 lo on pavement then ask why it is jerky or making weird noises when you turn. Engaging 4 wheel drive requires some slippage to prevent binding or possibly damaging your drivetrain - 99wishes
18) There is safety in numbers when out wheeling - 99wishes
19) If you do wheel alone: know the limitations of yourself and your Jeep; be prepared with tools, self-recovery gear, etc; don't do stupid shit - fat_head
20) Learn about the history and legacy of your Jeep. It will better help you understand why we are a special group. Drink the kool-aid, you'll like it - Goggles Paesano
21) Don't be afraid to wrench on your own Jeep. A lot of things can be done with basic tools, you'll get the satisfaction of knowing you did it right, and you won't have to worry about the dealership screwing up the most simple task - HealthRebel

(I find that in my area, I get a jeep wake only about 40% of the time!)
:(
What’s a Jeep wake?

Is this something new I’ve been missing out on?!

You should move to St. Augustine. My hand gets tired, every day.

x. When you are out and about..... and looking for a parking spot in whichever lot. Find another Wrangler to park next to

y. Be nice to people with “Jeep envy”. Very likely to be a Jeeper in the making.

If your wandering all over the road and feel like you’re going to be blown off the road by an eighteen wheeler, don’t be alarmed, this is perfectly normal, it’s a “ jeep thang”......
