Getting ready to install my lift, and was going over my parts with my local shop and ordering up adjustable track bars.

They said they wont install a front trackbar relocation bracket because, quote, “they always come loose and put the truck into deathwobble. We will only install adjustable track bars in the front.”

I guess what i am curious to know is, has anyone experienced this first hand? Not read about it on the internet, saw it on youtube, heard a guy talking about his brother’s buddy....actually seen it first hand? @chevymitchell ?

Thanks.

ill need one or the other, to center the axle. i have the bracket already. My understanding is that the brackets correct the roll center of the vehicle‘s geometry as well as mostly center axle and the adjustable bar just centers the axle.

The bracket generally is used with factory tb to help center axle. I would get the adjustable track bar instead, because with lift and bigger tires you’ll be on borrowed time until bushings wear out. Roll center can be addressed by using a relocation bracket in the rear. But to be honest, unless your going up over 3.5”, roll center isn’t that noticeable to me.

ive got a rear to go on. Body control at speed with weight is a big concern for me; so id ideally like to optimize the roll center as much as possible; long term my plan was both bars and brackets.

is there no benefit to a bracket in the front if doing the bar?

The front track bar bracket isn't just for roll center. It's to keep the drag link and track bar parallel to prevent bump steer.

I have never had a front track bar bracket come loose... not sure where that is coming from. There are usually 3 bolts or more holding it in place including the axle side track bar bolt.

I'd run the bracket. An adjustable track bar without a bracket is a good solution. Once you're around 3-3.5"+ of lift, you'll need the bracket to help with the bump steer.

If you use adjustable track bar to center the axle and raise it, then you’ll be out of parallel with the drag link, which will cause bump steer. I personally would not use the bracket in the front with an adjustable t.b. unless you’re planning to flip the drag link. How high of lift are you going with?
