I like how clean that looks. Idk if I'm gonna do these or the Mopar ones cause I may be able to get the mopar ones for employee pricing
I have the Mopar ones, you should get the Hot Heads ones. This and honestly a full length sun shade that stays on with the top, do a tremendous job at cutting the radiation of heat from the top. A not black color top also helps a lot. A window shade for the windshield that fits well, and ceramic tint on the windows and it will be quite comfortable no matter what.

Im gonna have to check out those hot head liners...It does get offensively hot in my Jeep. Even with tint and all that..Might switch all the window tint to ceramic that blocks UV, but not the heat. I can feel it cooking up there.

I just ordered the Hotheads ones a little bit ago, seems more logical given they're a little cheaper but also good quality and they cover that little section towards the back that the Mopar ones skip for some reason. Now on to the waiting game lol

Btw for those of you who also installed the Hothead headliner, did you guys have to do anything extra to help it stick or was everything supplied good enough?

Not sure why your friends AC unit will not cool his Jeep....but my Rubicon is so cold that I must run it on the lowest level (1) because it gets so cold in the jeep that often my pax will close the vents on the Pax side. Sure when it sits in the sun the interior gets hot...but in a couple of minutes with the AC on Medium (3 or 4) the interior is cool and I have to begin lowering the vent air speed.
No interior insulation on my hardtop. Houston TX....super heat where I use my jeep. Ceramic Tint on all windows and eyebrow on windshield.

No problems keeping my interior cool. Mine is Silver and had the black hardtop. I sold that and bought a Silver hardtop. Neither top is lined and my interior is plenty cold. I keep it set on auto around 71. Much lower and it's too cold for me. I do have tinted windows and that helps. I may still do the headliner at some point...

I live near Tucson, Arizona and it was 109˚+ this weekend. I was fine in the front seat, but some rear passengers were complaining that the rear eyeball vents weren't pushing that much air. I felt them and it was pretty dramatic how much less the air flow was. I pointed the middle two front vents down the middle and switched from Auto for climate control to maximum fan speed and recirculation engaged. Within 5 minutes after that adjustment they we feeling much better. I need to look into window tint as I think that will help with interior temps. I use an ultimate folding heat shield from Autoheatshield in my front window and it really helps keep the Jeep cooler.
Living in Phoenix with the hot temps I have found that the Auto climate control freqently isn't quite enough and usually just have to manually control the fan speed. But with fan speed going and the recirc on it turns the inside into an ice box

I understand when you are trying to save bucks. The Mopar ones look fine, but aren't as thick and probably don't help as much with temp or sound, but anything is better than nothing. I totally love my Hotheads, though. When you get to speak to The Guy when you call the support number with questions that's pretty cool. No matter the choice, all good!

Not at all. The 3M tape on them was awesome. Zero issues in up to 105 heat so far.

Yes. First you use the sandpaper to scuff up the surface, then use acetone and clean up the areas where the adhesive will stick. Be sure you get all the dust off. Acetone is the only thing not included in the kit. There are stories online of people who didn't do this step, and their headliner fell off. Take your time and get it clean. Just follow the directions and you'll be good.

Ok this is kind of an odd question, so I've been in the market for a Rubicon or a Rebel and I've been really torn between the two but lately I've been leaning a bit more to the Rubicon.

A friend of mine had one and he says the Jeep always felt like an oven (had a hard top) that was impossible to cool down the interior even with the A/C on full blast. This would be my first Jeep and he didn't have the Jeep for a long time so idk if he's just being dramatic about it or if there's some truth to that. I live in Arizona where our Summers like to push above 110°.....
I usually just open all my windows first for a few minutes to let out the hot air when I start driving.

Live in SC, Soft Top...Takes a little while to cool down when it is in the upper 90's, but it works well after a few miles.

I'm surprised at how poorly the AC, when in Auto mode, actually cools the interior of my JLR with the tan soft top. With it set on 68 and an outside temp in the high 80's it's warm enough inside for me to sweat. Reading the comments before yours I was thinking that I was the exception. But, maybe most folks just play around with the settings to stay comfortable. I tend to be more of a set it and forget about it type of person.

Later,
Johnny
