A few months ago I did the aux battery delete while my ECU was out and being worked on. Since the ECU was gone for a month, when I connected everything back up I had kind of forgotten about the IBS and although I had it connected to the battery, the electrical wire plug connection for it was undone. I thought it weird for this vehicle that my alternator was putting out a pretty constant 14.9v. Then, twice while pulling a long hill on the highway, I got a check engine light and a code for turbo van actuator (ecodiesel). I started monitoring my turbo vane commanded vs actual position, and they were always within 1% of each other and moving around as they should be. While investigating under the hood, I found the disconnected IBS and plugged it back in. I have not had a check engine light since then. A.I. confirmed that without the IBS the vane actuator could have been receiving voltages that were out of the norm and easily caused the CEL.
