I am looking at upgrading from my JK to JL. I have found several 2.0 Turbo models, but I am hesitant with them since my JK has a 3.6. Would I go wrong with the 2.0 Turbo?

Do you want better power, better mpg, and less issues? Or are you someone scared of turbos and technology?

Worry about everything around the motor, not the motor itself. Neither option is great, there are far more important decisions to be made.

I'm on my fourth JLU, and two of each motor, and my suggestion is to take whichever motor is in the JL you like best.

Eh, this little Alfa turbo engine has been around since 2016 with no major issues. I'm happy with mine.

I watched a Alfa Romeo Giulia review the other day. It actually got great feedback from the owners without any major issues reported. I always like the look but not sure about the Alfa Romeo reliability. Its pretty cheap in the used market. Too bad manual isn't available.

Refer to these other threads you have started. You are being redundant. Lots of good advise in those previous threads.

I have rented 2 x 2.0 Turbos and each one sounded like my wife's sewing machine when I stepped on the gas, not to mention turbo lag. Meanwhile back at the ranch sits a trouble-free, manual transmission, Pentastar 3.6 (non E-Torque) and it sounds like an engine should (as long as there's no ticking). Just a casual observation... :jk: ;).

Not sure were the “Turbo Lag” is coming from except for no doubt tanks of 87 oct being the only fuel a rental would get. It has a twin scroll dual entry turbo. Mine has a LSD 44 and will light the tires from a stop. No lag here, now my old WRX had some turbo lag for sure. 50 less hp too.
