Wait, what?
There are no dissimilar metals in the panel flanges. It's poor prep that allows moisture to enter the weld seams and starts the corrosion. There is raw aluminum under the hinges. Not even primer. Moisture gets under there and we're off to the races.

The door is aluminum. The hinges and bolts are steel.

How is that not dissimilar metals? Can someone correct m please?

The issue is a combination of corrosion similar to galvanic corrosion but not exactly, which is made much worse because of the poor prep and poor manufacturing process. That is my opinion.

Well agree to disagree. I think you're naively remembering an alternate reality version of the internet that never actually existed. Google has been making money off you since 2000 when paid advertising was introduced and determining what you see in search results based an algorithm that earns them the most money. Prior to the introduction of HTML in the early 90s it was a slow, clunky mess. I remember it well.

No argument commercialization and loss of privacy is worse now, but the direct benefits that have come from it have exponentially improved access, content quality and user experience. The only other option would be for users to pay the actual costs of the internet. Everything would have a cost - paying a fee to use Google all the way to a subscription for every website. Is that what you're proposing? That's just fantasy...
Yes, that is how the internet for public use started. Does anyone else remember all of the free CDs that AOL used to mail to everyone. Back then when BetterThanMine remembers all the not for profit content we were having to pay either buy the Meg or by the minute for access. Ever since the internet left college campuses it has been for profit.

How do you figure? The door itself is aluminum, but the hinges are steel.
Get a magnet and see if it will stick to the hinges then report back with your findings.
Spoiler alert: it won't because the hinges are also aluminum.

Happy to leave. Came here to get an owners side of the story from very knowledgeable folks plugged into the JL world that might have some interesting insight they would like to share to a different community.

It is for profit, I’m not trying to hide that. Just like nearly every other news and media site.

Next time something impactful happens in your community and your go to for profit news organization tries to tell both sides of the story I hope someone involved is willing to be interviewed without so much friction and skepticism.
It’s unfortunate, but the approach was wrong. ☹
