Interesting updated dash

Someone on this forum installed a version of this made by Carobotor (carobotor.ca). Not sure whether they were the original manufacturer and this is a knockoff or the other way around. Either way, it turned out to be a $hit product that was buggy and had limited tech support.

I put a huge Tesla like screen (android) in my pickup. I hate it. The integration is poor, and it's one of the best out there according to reviews. Looking at a large screen is over rated, IMO. What is most important is that you are able to control all the things you need, with minimal distraction from the task of driving. I'll be removing my $2k large screen and going back to the OE HVAC controls and either the OE entertainment system or a smaller screen that allows OE HVAC.

I do genuinely like them, my vent is always closes anyways there for my phone mount. I dont like the futuristic look, and wish I could program it to be classic looking, but thats just me. Other then that. I’ve heard instal shops say they have been big ole piles of junk

Nah, it's in my 14 GMC. It was all plug and play, although many plugs. No cutting/splicing. I also kept the old OEM stuff. I'd like some type of upgrade since it's all pre-Carplay/AndroidAuto. I'll call Crutchfield. They have some knowledgeable staff.

You can buy this exact thing off aliexpress lol. There are a lot of sellers selling it for various prices. If you search for wrangler cluster you'll find it listed for $2000 or less.

I wasn't looking to buy the dash especially at that price, I had just never seen one and was curious about it. Funny thing is if you look at their website they have stuff for lambo`s Rolls Royce, and some of the stuff is $60k !!!
BUT at this time they do not have a established phone line, really? WTF???

My neighbor has one of the Carobotor versions in his JTR. His ride is far from stock (Hellcat swap, PSC, 40's, winch, lights, etc...) and it seems to work for him. I don't ride in his Gladiator often but it seems to be fairly customizable, and works for him. Sadly, he spends more time getting it worked on than on the trails but it's his money not mine.
