My JL is still stock for now, with only 1000 miles on it, but planning a big spend.
This got me thinking...If you drop $40-100K on a new JL, then modify it with $5-20K, you are supposed to inform your insurance company. They will charge you extra on the agreed increased parts/labor value you want covered, but also so they can evaluate the new increased risk to them of your mods causing an accident or attracting attention for a vehicle theft. In the end, you are going to pay more if you want everything covered and don't want to worry they will refuse to pay out one day because you failed to infomr them.
Keeping the modified Jeep on your existing policy with your other cars will drive up the cost of the whole policy. Maybe there is savings to be had if you separate out the jeep to its own policy with a different company. Anyone try this?
