Does anyone have experience with installing tires with no sensors? I found some info for an older Jeep that if you drive it for 20 min or so the light would go out on the next key cycle. It would come back on if you drive with sensors installed and key cycled.

Im looking to change tires but don't need the sensors as I will check the pressures myself.

Thanks in advance

My light never turned off after I put rubicon take offs with sensors that don’t work with my model year. I fixed the problem when I lifted it and put bigger tires on. Pretty sure a tazer would also turn off the dash light.

@Mthayeck with an absence of TPMS sensors, the dash light would blink approximately 10 times and then remain solid as an indicator that your TPMS system is malfunctioning. A functioning safety feature like TPMS is highly recommended. :like:

The TPMS yellow light will stay on and when you go to the check tire pressure screen it will be in red with dash marks where the numbers should be. You can go with a Tazer or some other type software that will allow you to change the TPMS from on to off, I had sen another post with someone using JSCAN to change the settings and turn it on and off. It's all over Youtube and the parts are available from Amazon from what I had seen. The dealer or tire installer will only reset the system for you if change wheels/tires/sensors and I believe 2021 was the year they changed the sensors

I don't prefer it either, I turned off the TPMS with J-scan. :like:

I turned mine off accidentally with my Tazer and then couldn't figure out where my little dash picture of my Jeep went to. I like to leave my screen on that menu and when all 4 tires read the same pressure I feel like I win a prize.

Funny, I'm about to do the same thing.

Since I'm going to be running two sets of wheels, my current ones with the beadlocks will be for off-road use only, and my old ones from the factory as my dailies, I'm not going to go and spend the money on two sets of TPMS sensors. As it is I already have things lit up on the dash at all times, you get used to it pretty quick.

About the 400th time it tells you that your turn signals don't work, and that it doesn't sense your key, you stop giving a shit! :like:

When i had my '19 I had put on a set of new rubi takeoff wheels/tires that had a diff freq TPMS. The light would flash a few time and then steady. I left it like that for about 2 years... until I put back the old wheels/tires and traded it in...
