Installing these this morning on my 23 Willy’s unlimited. I’ve read a lot about broken “body” bolts, as well as loctite on some bolts. I know they body mount bolt is the larger bolt and doesn’t seem to be involved with these. Do I need to be concerned about breaking the body bolts removing the factory rails? Are these the bolts I need to put a torch to heat prior to removal? Thanks in advance!

Doesn’t look like you will be using anything more than the OEM mounting points for these steps. No body bolts involved and no heat needed.

Also, the factory rock rails are pinch seam mounted. The body mount bolts on the frame are not involved with that either.

As other posters said, the body bolts and mount points are no issue.

But, if your experience with these is anything like mine, you'll need a hacksaw. The studs that are mounted onto the rails that go into the pinch seam holes are at least 1/4" too long, and we couldn't even get them into the hole without seriously scraping the hell out of the paint.

factory rails and the Mopar enhanced rails have the exact same mounting points and hardware. Just the right wrench to remove and install

Will the included shims add enough clearance or did it require cutting the bolt?

We had to trim about 1/4" off the end of a couple of our bolts. If anything, the spacers would worsen the problem because they would pull the body mount joints even further towards you (which you don't want).

It'll make sense once you're out there. :)

Was a super easy install, sorry for the very basic questions. Measure twice cut once thing!
