Is this new? Pass side frame bracket

Is this something that is new or have I never noticed? My 2021 JT didn't have it, thought it may be a bracket used for shipping that was left on but I noticed someone else that had it on a new delivery as well. I haven't had time to investigate myself with the rain were having and it being outside.

Thats what I was thinking but looking at it from behind there is a spot weld to the outer bracket which the front piece bolts too. Wasn't able to see anything from the top there may be more. I mean anything can be removed just a pain in the arse to now have to deal with it if we decide to part ways.
