Going off of what Chapman has posted previously, it seems they're saying that they have followed the proper steps and that stellantis hasn't honored the pricing (specifically on the L2 packages on the trx) so they're choosing to not go down that road at all because they don't want to be holding the bag.
Umm literally the product manager from Jeep is saying the price is protected and Chapman is not doing it

I don't think anyone is arguing that Chapman isn't choosing to not do it or that stellantis has a sold order protection. Obviously something has happened, perhaps a weird corner case, and Chapman is choosing to not go at risk.

While most of the dealers I have spoken to and/or read about are willing to do affiliate.
There are a lot of dealers that aren't doing the extra 1% for affiliate beyond 1% under as well.

I can understand the affiliate not being added to 5% off invoice...I just don't like that my price just increased $1500 after I ordered it. That just made my 'deal' much worse.
I feel you there. I have a 392 on order through Chapman that this doesn't help, but I also knew going in that this was a risk because they were upfront about it.

So your saying the dealership can lock the order price in at no financial cost to them or delay in the order being built?
100% correct and exactly what I’m saying.
The TRX could be an outlier, as it was in high demand but even then I wouldn’t believe what they tell you unless they show the build order, price protection box checked, then the corresponding sticker as proof. Otherwise it’s just another dealership saying some random thing without backing it up.

And you could ask them, what the heck does a RAM TRX have to do with a Jeep? Even the 392 orders had price protection honored (when selected). Cancel with Chapman and go elsewhere. They are some garbage as this point, that’s completely frustrating I’m so sorry man.

Give me a few and I’ll dig up my post on this and get the Stellantis number to call. Though I doubt it’ll do much as this point.

You must be referring to the same guy (Scott) I talked to about this last year. And he is 100% right and in the know.

In addition to the Sold order protection box (thanks for sharing), it seems that there must be a way utilize details from a previous guide/MSRP/invoice pricing. Otherwise, how would FCA account for items which are ordered, but don't show in the latest guide? It must happen with options and it definitely happens with colors, ie Tuscadero not showing as a selection any longer, but clearly there are Wranglers still being built with that paint code.

Does anyone have experience with price changes and colors going away in the latest order guide? Would that help to grandfather anything?

I suppose what makes this really kind of make me call BS is that right after i ordered in October at 4 % under invoice they started to offer 5% under invoice. I was told that I could not get that unless i wanted to cancel my order and reorder. So they are saying I am locked in on them and they won't honor new incentive they are doing but they wont price guarantee because Stellantis may not pay them back, but every other dealer is taking that risk.
I am thinking the same thing. We ordered at 4% then about 2 weeks later it was 5%. I am guessing I'll get the no to price protection when they answer my email from this afternoon, but I may go back and ask if due to the drastic price increase, would they be willing to extend the 5% offer to us to help "soften the blow". I doubt it, but doesn't hurt to ask. Especially since we were an earlier 2022 order for them.

I'd call BS on this as well. You can negotiate the price of your order up until you sign the papers and take possession.

i think they need to change their position on price protection. all new orders i get but those of us who ordered before new years. Tom and team have built a great reputation on the Bronco forum and here too this could really hurt that, which. i wouldnt want.

Agreed. This thread was not to bash a dealership...it was simply to get out information about ordering with price protection. Just like discussing prices paid, this is simply another factor when ordering. Chapman seems like good people based on all the reviews.

They are and maybe just made a bad call in saying they would not honor price protection a little too hastily... at least that is what i am hoping and they change and say they will honor now especially as every other thread is a poster saying that their dealer is honoring price protection.

My understanding (from what my dealer told me....which is ALWAYS the truth <sarcasm>) was that by placing a 'sold order', my car build would be prioritized over dealer stock orders and that I am price protected from future price increases. From what I've read, this is true.

I guess the determining factor will be the window sticker, correct? If the window sticker prices don't match those on the order sheet then there might be an issue. My understanding was that prices are protected by Jeep...I ordered a truck and options at a listed price and the window sticker shouldn't change.

Why not just use something like Costco Auto program and take the dealer out of the equation?
