no video of my funny, wife driving, night, 4 lane hwy, deer standing left lane as we approach, wife slows a little but it stands there and she keeps going. As we get close, the damn deer, a buck 6 point, leans into wife's car and puts a 6 foot groove on side of jeep cherokee. Deer walks away.

Wow, no wonder you made that sound. Just watching the video you couldn't tell that it was a bird that big without pausing it. Glad it wasn't worse.

My own similar funny story happened like 35 years ago. I was driving home from a friend's house on a dark 4-lane road. I'm in the right lane, with a car to my left, and another following relatively close behind (that's life in NJ). Out of nowhere, a possum tries crossing the road. I can't slow down and can't veer to the left to avoid it, so I hit it. No lie, Joan Jett's "Hit Me With Your Best Shot" was the song on the radio.

Wife hit a turkey on her way home from work with her mb. Whole front clip had to be replaced. Over 30000 dollars in damages. USSA claims adjuster laughed. I laughed also but wife didn’t.

I've had a few birdstrikes in airplanes. I'd hit one and wonder if the remains would fall down into some guys convertible. Had to shut down an engine after takeoff because a few of them decided to commit mass suicide. She Drives Me Crazy by Fine Young Cannibals was on the radio when I got into the car later. I don't know that significance.
