I am mainly concerned with durabilty as far as preventing rust from stone chips and salt. Just one less thing I would rather not have to deal with. And I did not buy a wrangler to drag race either, but I always prefer a sleeper look on all my cars.

Corrosion on your tow hooks should be the least of your concern regardless of the coating. I can't remember ever seeing rust on anyone's OEM hooks. The hinges will corrode off the thing long before a towhook issue.

Ok. So it's a "look" thing. Nothing wrong with that. My point was that you could have saved some cabbage by painting the blue ones. And I KNOW the ass pain you went through getting the old hooks out, as I had to get my fog lights out for new bumper. There are quite a few members who just masked off bumper and painted.

Not sure on price of new black tow hooks but I picked up the blue set used from a member here or the fb groups for around 100 bucks.

I had to take the bumper off anyway to set up the jeep for flat towing (installed the maximus loops) and that is not something i would want to do over and over. Not hard just tedious.

Ahh sorry, I meant blue. Lol. That's a bit more that I would have thought used but not my money. And if you had it all apart for them, then totally makes sense as to why you did the change.

Yeah it was all apart anyway so they were no big deal. But i only did change bc the boss lady told me i needed to change them, lol. She did not care what they cost just wanted them blue like the other ones. I knew better than to fight her over it.

I did in post 16, she claimed it and wanted the blue hooks! We sold my 2017 chevy ss to make room in garage for wrangler with understanding that we would share it. We each have other primary cars. Fast forward a year and the wrangler is now her primary car with all sorts of her personalized touches (like turtle door lock covers) on it. I barely drive it so i have one of my own on order now.

Why didn't you just paint them while you had the bumper apart? Lol.

I didn't want to mess with painting them myself and matching the color. The way I did it was more expensive, but it wasn't outrageous. She loves how it turned out and I think it looks pretty good too so it was worth it.
