I have a 2024 2.0 auto with axleback quadratec exhaust. Im thinking of deleting the resonator or putting high flow resonator. How would each sound?

Search the internet for soundbites of straight pipe and aftermarket exhaust. Straight pipe sound is fairly consistent ... not many variables. The sound when eliminating the stock muffler, and replacing the stock resonator with a high flow muffler/resonator, varies a lot. It depends on the muffler/resonator used (e.g. chambered, perforated glass pack, etc...). Magnaflow, Borla, Flowmaster ... all sound different.I have a 2024 2.0 auto with axleback quadratec exhaust. About like mine with the Borla cat back crawler exhaust. The Stellantis/Fiat 2.0 is probably the only engine on earth that even Borla can't improve the sound on. But like you pointed out, it saves a little weight, but so does dieting. The clearance improvement is undeniable. I have thought about having a local muffler shop replace the muffler/resonator combo but it would be a crap shoot of sorts.IMO, don't do a 2.0 exhaust for sound. Clearance and reduced weight, again IMO, ought to be the main drivers as they're what you really gain by deleting the muffler and resonator. Here's what my 2.0 sounds like with a Magnaflow Rock Crawler exhaust - which is pretty much just a small muffler and no resonator. You do knock a good chunk of weight off by dropping the muffler and res.
That'd be a hell of a trick seeing as the 2.0 redlines well before 6500When I hear a 2.0 with an aftermarket exhaust, I find myself looking for some kind of small tuner car, not a Jeep.
But, hey, you’ll get 5-10 more HP at 6500 RPMs.![]()
