This is very true color and OEM options affect resale. And location also plays a major part.

My father in law found this out the hard way. Had a 67gt fastback mustang. Needed about 10 grand put into it to make a nice driver. Had a weird currugated sunroof option that nobody had ever seen. Current color was black but it usedto be yellow. They sold for something like 14k. New owner gives them a call later....turns out the car was 1 of 1. The only one ever ordered with this sunrood that the dealer installed. The new owner is restoring it to a concorse car. Had inlaws known they could have probably gotten 50k+ for the car.

Similarly he also had it happen the other way. He bought an 86 macho trans am for like 20k Turns out that only 20 were made and most were totalled racing at phoenix int raceway. The ar is thought to now be 1 of 6 and might be the only red one left. No idea what its worth now but he's been offered more than that for it.

Jeep vlues typically dont follow the norm. Two years ago i was thinking about selling my 99 TJ sport. People offered me as much as 16k for it in 2016....hell i paid 20,040 for it new. It had barely lost any value. I ended up keeping it. Jeeps are likegold in the deep south.
