Like others have said. Dealers don't care about mods. They won't give you anything for them if you trade the Jeep in. Depending on what mods you have, some might sell the jeep and try to get more for it because of the mods. Most however, if the Jeep is lifted or more heavily modifed, a lot of them will just send the Jeep to auction. When I traded my JK for my JL, my dealer told me that I could take anything off my trade-in I wanted prior to bringing it in. I took it to my buddies offroad shop and told folks in my club that I would take offers on anything on my Jeep but if it was something necessary, like shocks, bumper, etc, they had to provide replacement parts to replace whatever they were taking. I took my JK in with someone's old shocks on it, their old factory driveshafts, stock bumpers, etc... dealer didnt care.
it’s amazing to me how dealerships really don’t care except flat out black and white retail value. As buyers, we look for little details and care about the little details but dealerships to do. I traded in a Yukon Denali in that I didn’t even put the backseats and several other parts back in, probably a grand worth of parts and they did not care at all. They told me to sell it on Craigslist when I asked them if it would help the trade in value.

When I was 18 I got a business lesson from a sales manager at a Porsche dealership I used to work at. They got a nice GT3 RS in, and my buddy and I that detailed together were drooling over it. The sales manager comes in and goes “what is wrong with you two? All I see in another hunk of metal I have to sell.” Hahaha

have you even looked into the resale value?

prices are insane right now on used cars and not too many cars retain their value as well as a Wrangler....

as far as mods go, if you don't like the car now, I don't know if dumping more money into it is going to help you much.

run it on vroom, carvana, etc .....you may be surprised at what you find the value to be
