I may be a little bitter, but my '21 is still in the shop after more than a month.

Seems like quite a few of us have had oil leaks on the '20 and '21 models. I had a pretty significant leak develop on the driver's side at ~6k miles, and now a valve cover leak on the passenger side at ~25k miles.

Dealer says my ECM also failed again, so this is the second replacement (first was replaced during the 6k repair). I had a few limp-modes triggered on the freeway last summer that look like they were caused by low voltage.

Had a few high-temp limp-modes triggered after the 6k repair but those seemed related to dealer tech not properly flushing/bleeding the coolant lines ("not a big deal" says service manager).

And now I hear my EGR valve failed and filled the lines with coolant, soot, and gunk (service writer's words). So still waiting on those parts.

My Jeep has been at the dealer for ~100 out of 750 days already. Most of that seems to be waiting on parts or STAR expertise. I've owned 10+ Jeeps and this has been my favorite to drive, wheel, and even look at. So many friends keep telling me to dump it, but there are so many things I love about it. And I don't want to go back to the 3.6. For the remote trips I do a few times a year and the towing I do, the 4xe doesn't make sense.

I had the heads fail on both 3.6s I had ('11 WK2 and '14 JKUR), and coolant leaks on the '11. Just to say I know issues aren't limited to the diesel. My wife and I loved the gen2 diesel in our '18 WK2 Trailhawk for the 60k miles we had it, and that convinced us to order the JL with the gen3.

Dude, I would be bitter in your shoes too. It sounds like at least part of your problem is that the dealer you are dealing with is incompetent. Do you have other dealers you can try to go to?

I actually think that's the single biggest issue for all of us, regardless of engine type. The Jeep dealership service network is a poster child for incompetence and the largest contributor to owner dissatisfaction.

The 4xe is an awesome achievement from FCA but does not suit my outdoor parking desires. We regularly see minus F temps in the winter months. I was pleasantly surprised at the performance and dollar friendly fuel requirements. Prior to the petroleum price increases, my average fuel cost per mile was 11 cents and electric-only came in at 8 cents. We are blessed with affordable electric rates. I recommend the 4xe to those who live in warmer climates and have short drives that will optimize the electric aspect, for northern States not so much.
This is where you are wrong. Even if you park your 4xe outside and never charge it. Its still almost as fast as a 392 in day to day driving and gets better fuel economy than a V6.

Operating it as a plain old non-plug in hybrid, its still fast and reasonably thrifty.

I drive 20 minutes and past 2 really bad dealers to get to this one. I have used 8 dealers within an hour of my house and this has been the better of them (one now closed). There is one 40 minutes away that I've had "meh" experience, but their good service writer left, they don't have loaners, no rental agency within 20 miles, and their sales manager jerked me around so much several years ago that I have a hard time giving them any business.

THIS EXACTLY!

I am always thrown off when others post on here about how great their dealership experience is. I have yet to see it. More shocking after owning other brands the last several years and seeing how well they operate.
