At 10K miles your engine has regenerated dozens of times. Likely one every (or every other) tankful. Buy a Scanguage and watch them happen live.

There's nothing that you wou notice. It just happens. You don't lose power, there's generally no funky smell, or anything else like that. You need something like a Banks iDash or a ScanGauge to tell you it's happening.

Idle RPM will be higher. You’ll notice that if you watch carefully. Instantaneous MPG will drop. You’ll also notice a smell if the windows are down and you’re stopped.

Never noticed any of those. I drive about 20 miles on the highway so maybe it doesn't even dip. Never noticed I am sure it happens or it would tell me to drive until complete. Never noticed a smell or drop in MPG etc.

I’ve definitely noticed a smell from time to time. I usually drive with the doors off. There have also been times when I thought the engine just seemed slightly less peppy. That is why I asked the question in the first place. To see if perhaps those were the regen signs. I was hoping there was a screen or setting that would tell me without buying another gizmo, to confirm my suspicion

I also get the nasty smell, which I always assumed was the regen. I almost always drive with all windows down and soft top windows off. I can smell it even more if it happens to coincide with parking in the garage after a long drive

I have 6,000 miles on my 22' 3.0 and have just recently finished my first tank of DEF. i never have noticed when it regens but I have noticed on some longer trips there are random times that the air conditioning has gotten warm for a few seconds while driving on the highway, curious if it shuts off the AC compressor briefly during regen? I have never noticed any smell either.

I don’t think so. I just notice RPM at idle, MPG drop, and the smell… windows down and top off. No smell inside without that.
