How much DEF?

Hey so I’m new to having to use DEF and was wondering about having to keep it fresh. So is it better to let the tank get low and only add 2.5gal and keep in the 1/4-3/4 filled range or keep it topped off? Thanks

A couple variables for you to consider. How much you drive. If you can use like 1/2 tank of def in 90 days, go ahead and fill it up. You will use less def in 20* or less weather. Freeze and thaw of def Is not great. Daily driver in warm weather, go ahead and fill it up. Top it off at least quarterly. And if you aren’t getting under 1/2 tank switch to jugs. The pumps are a bummer mostly. They are prepay and always disgustingly filthy.
