If that was to get the VON I would be having words with the dealer. VON stands for vehicle order number and the dealer gets it immediately after placing the order. They basically sat on your order that whole time.

Agree with Manuka, I got my VON as soon as I paid my deposit. Once that is assign, the "build" process begins. I'd send a note to Jeep Chat an ask for the official order date to see if the dealer sat on it.

Where did you get the VIN and D status update? I ordered yesterday also and got my VON, but Jeep chat said it can take a week for the order to show up to be able to track.

I checked with Jeep chat and just asked about my status - gave them my VON... and they gave me the VIN and told me it was in D.

Ordered my Jeep two weeks ago tomorrow. After bugging my sales rep for a week he finally gave me my VON #. Now almost 2 weeks into the order still no VIN#. Jeep chat doesn’t show any info using my VON#. What can I do.

If it's one of the harder to get combinations not much you can do. If it's not I'd say take the advice you got last time. Plenty of well known dealers on this website willing to give you a great deal and they don't take a week to respond to your requests.

I got my VON moments after my deposit was confirmed. I held off contacting the dealer for a week before I asked about status. I got the VIN and confirmation that I was at D1 status. I ordered on March 26th. My wife and I are going to be in England May 9th till June 3rd. So I don't believe my Jeep will be delivered until late May so I am not feverishly seeking the next status. I will be checking weekly, however.

I had mine in 15 minutes, but only because I wasn't at the dealership when the order goes through. The delay with some dealerships is that they may have only 1 or 2 staff that actually place the orders with FCA. In my case, my dealer processed the order himself and called me with my VON. I, however, do not have a VIN yet and some people are lucky enough to have their unit allocated faster than others.
[Update] Contacted my dealer 04/16 and had a VIN and D status (6 days).
