This.Do nothing???? There is a whole world out there and you can control your time and pace. I think we spend more money at home then we do traveling at times.
Like others here, I also began a very busy career at an early age and ended up being just as busy after I retired. I know that many of us think we'll just sit around and do nothing, but you'd be surprised at how many opportunities are out there. There's so much to see, learn, and explore before we all croak (even if you don't like traveling), so there's absolutely no reason to be bored. All that said, I can totally understand why people choose to work as long as they are physically able to, as there are so many unknowns that can affect health, finances, and family. I've seen many cases, where even one medical issue can drain a family's savings, so it makes sense to keep building that nest egg as long as you can, especially with sharply rising prices and an uncertain future for investments. Unfortunately, I have to temporarily return to work due to recent events, but the "to-do" list for my second retirement is rapidly growing!
