I know this is silly and it's been asked many times before. I tried every suggestion here, but I am still struggling to remove some wax residue from my rock sliders. On the plus side the Jeep looks sparkling clean (for now).

I tried scrubbing with basically every mainstream auto cleaning product off the shelf, dawn, power scrubber, goo gone (I know it's not meant for that but worth a shot). Nothing worked. It disappears when it's wet and reappears as soon as it dries off.

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

At this point I could have bought new take-offs cheaper than all the products and time I spent trying to clean them.

I tried this stuff and it really works on the plastic and I’m quite sure it should work on the sliders. Made by speedy white.

Saw someone else here recommend using isopropyl rubbing alcohol to remove wax residue. Or maybe try a black trim restoration product like Black on Black or something similar?

There used to be a sponsor here that sold graphene wipes for restoring faded black plastic trims, but can't seem to find them again and not sure if the black would absorb into the powder-coated metal slider.

I will check it out, thanks!

I looked up these black-on-black products, but they only list vinyl and plastic surfaces.

A simple fix is to rub it with rocks you find on the trail. It may not be easy to get the rocks to rub it in the right spot, so it might take some patience, but it does work. There are two mistake I’ve made doing this. The first one is that I’ve rubbed a little too hard and rubbed the paint off also. That’s an easy fix, so no biggie. The second mistake is forgetting that I am trying to work on the rails and start goofing off. Then one thing leads to another and I’ve wasted an entire weekend and never checked if my rails were cleaned.

Black again will temporarily hide it but needs replication every so often.

Used 90% IPA (not beer) to remove wax from my fender flares. A mr clean eraser works too but the texture will eat them up quick.

The Mr. Clean eraser may work well but remember it IS still an abrasive albeit a very mild one.

Like what @EarlGirl mentioned, I'd say use either a heat gun or a steamer and use paper towels as you go to absorb it.
