Passenger side thrust washer in my D35 exploded. Any idea what could have caused this? See pictures. (Scratches on spider gears are from me.)
More importantly is there anything I can do/be concerned about right now? Every kit I see for sale online is backordered to Christmas.
For some context I was playing around off-road and when I hosted off the jeep I saw that the rear diff breather had torn when I was out. I pulled the cover immediately to change axle fluid and pieces of the thrust washer dropped along with my stomach. No noise, event, or indication of this happening when I was driving. Is it possible this happened a while ago?
On a related note anyone have an old D35 or D44 lying around up here in the northeast? ?
