How bad (or good) are -38 offset wheels?

Hey guys,

I’ve posted a poll a few days ago asking for opinions regarding the wheels I’m eyeing for my JLU Rubicon in String Gray.

I’ve found some KMC beadlocks at a discounted price. Only issue is the -38 offset. Anyone runs them and can you please post side pics? I want to see how far they poke out of the stock fenders. I’ll keep my 285/70/17 BFGs on the new wheels for now. TIA

Those may not match string gray. Better keep looking

Thanks. Yes i checked the offset calculator and it does poke out a lot. I want to see actual pictures of those who run them (if any) to really have an idea how it looks in person. Cheers.

Yeah. Some poke is good aesthetically imo. Just not too much.

Stock Rubi wheels have an offset of +44mm. Going from +44 to -38 will push each wheel out 3.23 inches. That's a lot of poke.

If it helps any, I just went from stock wheels to Method MR703s with 0mm offset. Pushed my wheels out 1.73 inches. Went from no poke to this. Going from this to -38mm offset pushes them out another 1.5 inches.

I’m looking at the 703’s with BFG K02 35’s (315). Thanks for these pictures, really helpful as I’ve wondered how they would look on my JL Rubicon when replacing the stock wheels. What tire size and lift do you have?
