Just did a complete oil change with oil, air and fuel filter. Torquesd the filter to 18.5 ft
B. About 59k miles. After the fluid change the pill pressure seems high. At first the idle pressures was around 50 going up to 90 with the enges reved to 3.5k. After a bit the idle pressure drops to 26 to 28 and at speed the pressure was in the 60 range. I don’t really them being that high before the oil and filter change. Using the same oil as the last several changes and MOPAR filter. Any idea what could causes the pressure to be higher after the change than before? Thanks

At idle and below 3500 RPM it should be around 30. 60ish (upper 50s) above 3500 RPMish is normal. Are you saying it was 60ish at lower than 3500 RPM?

Ignore me, was thinking 3.6. Diesel shit is weird, dunno.

Your ranges are normal. Oil pump is in a “economy” state below approximately 2800 RPM and expected pressures at that range can be anywhere from 18-35 PSI usually. After that, the oil pump goes into its high pressure state and you can see 30-70. Those numbers will go higher on cold starts across the board.

I honestly don't look at oil pressure all that often but those don't seem out of line for me. @Remorseless and @bmpcamry09 are you thinking 3.6 rather than EcoDiesel?

Since I can't remember I checked in with Gemini:

Normal EcoDiesel Oil Pressure Ranges
  • Cold Startup: 45–55+ psi
    • When the engine is cold and the oil is thick, the pressure will jump up immediately. As the engine warms up and idles, you'll watch this number gradually drop.
  • Warm Idle (Fully Up to Temp): 15–21 psi
    • Once the engine oil temperature reaches normal operating range (roughly 93°C–104°C or 200°F–220°F), the pressure at a stop light will sit right around 15–20 psi. It can occasionally dip down to 12–14 psi on an extremely hot day after heavy driving, which is still considered acceptable by the ECM.
  • On the Road (Cruising/Under Load): 35–55 psi
    • While driving down the highway at normal cruising RPMs (1,500–2,500 RPM), the pressure will scale up with your throttle input. Under a heavy load or while towing, it will typically stabilize in the mid-40s to low-50s.
