Hey guys. Sorry for the same thread every noob posts here. I’ve been reading a few threads about lifts and wheels and offsets. However I don’t see any regarding the Rough Country 2.5” lift.

Bought an 18 JL and was given a RC 2.5” suspension lift (https://www.roughcountry.com/jeep-s...nd=2018-jeep-wrangler-jl-unlimited-4wd-739727). I’m not going off-roading and I believe I don’t have use for any other lifts. Plus these were free so I can’t complain. Strictly looks

Just curious what you guys think about the wheel/tires I’ve selected so far.

18x9 Fuel D569 -12mm Offset, 4.5" Backspace
Thunderer MT Tires - 35x12.50R18

17x9 Mammoth Boulder -6mm Offset, 4.7” Backspace
Mud claw Extreme MT tires - 35x12.50R17

I'd run the 17s, better tire selection and you'll have a bit taller sidewall and slightly less tire poke at the fender.

You may want to consider the Mopar lift LCAs to keep your caster in the 6 degree range. After that lift your Jeep will probably have caster right around 4 degrees which will make it prone to wander at high speeds rather than wanting to track tight & straight. Here's an install post I made about them

I run the same kit with 17x9.5 -18 offset. I put the spacers on and didn’t change anything else. No issues with tracking at all. I run 17 miles highway to work everyday. Not saying blnewt is wrong just my experience. If you go -12 you’ll poke 1/4 less and the -6 will be about 1/2 less.

Thank you to both of you for the insights !! That’s exactly what I was needing. Some legit advice from people who have done it.
