I about to pull the trigger on a JLU and I will be installing the TeraFlex RT3 3.5" short arm lift. I want to run 38x13.50R 17 tires on beadlocks and I'm torn on which offset I should go with to have no or very minimal rubbing at full articulation and full lock with the steering. I want to keep my overall width as tight as possible just for narrower shelf roads/trails. I'm seeing some 0mm but I just don't think that is going to poke enough for clearance but I don''t know that either which is why I ask...

any help would be appreciated

thanks
Pat

My wife's JLUR has a MC GC 3.5" lift with Raceline wheels that are a -12 offset with a 40x13.50 MT Baja Boss that rub on the lower links at full lock but I'm fine with that since I wanted to keep the tires in close for the same reason.

Not answering you question, but are you damn sure you need beadlocks? You're positive you'll be doing extreme enough stuff to require single digit PSIs?
Well, I understand where you're coming from and honestly I do agree with you BUT I am the type that would assume to have it and not need it instead of need it and not have it. I've thought about the Method Bead Grip wheels too. I dunno

You don’t need bead grips unless you are crawling boulders at 5 PSI. If you want to keep your track width down, consider 12.50 width tires. If you want to keep your factory fenders and don’t want rubbing when you articulate, consider 37s. -12 offset with no more than a 9” wide wheel is good with 37s to strike a balance between rubbing and width. I’m going to guess that you already have factory 4.56 or 4.88 gears since you are even considering 38s.

Are there specific trails you're wanting to do that would need beadlocks? I've done things like the Rubicon and lots of Moab w/o them with no issues at all.

Hopefully you'll research what all is involved before buying a set. And yes, Brad Grips look extremely compelling.

He asked for opinions and got them. That's not gatekeeping.

How many times have people jumped in and spent tons of money without understanding what they are doing?
Has he done the necessary prep work to prepare his Jeep for those heavy tires? What about the re-enforcement of the tailgate?
There is a lot more to 38 tires than offset. It is wise to listen to experienced people and learn from them.
