Thanks for all of the replies and advice. Someone mentioned remote start. My Jeep has it and it was working fine before the battery started dying. After doing the aux battery delete it hasn’t worked. I wonder if it’s somehow connected.

Why spend money, when your Jeep just did it for you for free!! Now you just got to learn to not give a **** about the warning message!

I can tell you from personal experience, you get used to the warning messages eventually. Took me about 2 weeks before I stopped caring that my key fob was missing, and that my turn signal lights are going out, also for a year my hood was supposedly open. ?‍♂ Now I have a red security light on at all times.
Dang lots of warnings

Why don’t you just fix your Jeep? You introduced an abnormality.

Absolutely, Auto Stop/Start eliminator is the ticket. Its worth every dime and works great, I have been using the product in one of my other vehicles for well over 5 years and now in the JLU for some time as well.

Install, Disconnect neg. cable of Aux battery and pull F42 fuse and go on with a happy life without anymore electrical crap from the ESS system.

If I install the auto start stop eliminator, can I still use my JScan? Watching the install video it uses one of the connections that the JScan harness uses.

I was under the impression that JScan had that feature. No? The Tazer definitely does.

JScan does have the feature. You can unplug the auto stop/start module from the SWG and cable, then use the dual adapter cable to attach to the canbus cables normally plugged into the SWG and make whatever changes you need to.

Then unplug JScan, re-connect the Auto stop/start module between the canbus cable to the swg and the other cable back into the SWG and your done.

With that said I don't know why you would want to use the JScan to disable the ESS function because you will also kill the ability to remote start your Jeep if you wanted. If you just use the auto stop/start module the remote start will still work correctly.

I'm not talking about swapping the JScan out and swapping in a separate piece of hardware in to disable auto stop/start. I (apparently foolishly) thought that JScan did it on its own like the Tazer does (without nuking remote start).

Well I went back into JScan and enabled ESS again and remote start still doesn’t work. I’m also still getting the ESS warning light.

Perhaps the electronics are confused. Perform the following procedure: I will assume you have the JScan connected with a SWG bypass cable.

After completing the procedure of re-enabling ESS in the JSCAN be sure to either use the reset ECU option in the JScan menu or better yet remove the negative battery cable for a few minute and re-connect. The next time you start your Jeep you should be able to press the ESS disable button on the dash (if you have no warning lights) and the ESS button should light.

Is it possible it has nothing to do with the eliminator.
If its the warning light, could be aux battery, or the pins or that fuse 'panel thing.'
