Since you have the Tazer, it has a cooldown mode that will run the fans while the engine is off. Just a thought.
That could be helpful but does require the ignition on with engine not running. It would have helped if I remembered Tazer's cooldown mode at the time, I need to make a Tazer cheat sheet or something. I do wish I could just set it to run cooldown mode for 5 minutes after the Jeep is turned off.

OP - may or may not be heat soak, but if you see high temps like that often then opening up the vents or installing aftermarket vents may be helpful. It won't hurt anything and is a cheap way to attempt to lower under hood temps quicker when stopped.
I'm inclined to agree and I will try that. My only hesitation is that the passenger vent is right over the battery terminals. Rain? Snow? Should make some kind of cover for the top of the battery or is that a non-issue?

It's good to remember that the engine compartment is open to road spray when you're driving in the wet.

However, if you want to you can sandwich hydrophobic mesh between the vent and the engine bay. Some examples of a hydrophobic mesh are: Pre-Filter Hydrophobic Mesh - Mo-Flow Ventilation (moflowvents.com), F5100-Frogzskin Mesh-Yard (36" length x 60" width) - Frogzskin. They're used in off-road pre-filters to let air through but keep water and some dust out. If you cut a hole in the stock hood insulation for your vents, use some quality foil tape to tape the mesh to the inside of the hood (you can also run the bolts for your aftermarket vent through the mesh). This would cause any water that comes through the vents to hit the hydrophobic mesh and it should run out the stock water channels in the hood insulation.
