Take it to Mall of Georgia and ask them for a quote. They gave me a very fair price for my '18 JLU back in Oct. That will give you a good idea of what the market will bear in GA then you can mark up from there for a private sale. I actually had an offer from them for a "sight unseen" Jeep offer and they honored it when I showed up to take my 4xe. Also, if you do want to trade/sell your Jeep for another one, I highly recommend Mike Clinnin there. He is their internet sales guy and I got 6% below invoice going through him.

But yeah, generally speaking you're just going to have to take a bath on all your mods. Jeepers are a fickle bunch - we love a built-up Jeep, but only if *we* built it up (generally speaking).
Truth. You don't want to end up with someone else's mess.

I won't speak for others, but if I could afford a $60k Jeep, I would rather buy a new one and add the modifications that suit me.

I personally wouldn't buy a modified Jeep as that has been my stance for the last 20 years. When I see a modified used Jeep the first thing I think of is its been wheeled hard. Since you have most of the original parts I would reinstall them and sell the aftermarket stuff. I would have to think this would net you more money.

I honestly do hope you get your full asking price, like others said, the market is strange right now.

This, plus Joe Shmow doesn’t know the difference between a $500 lift and a $5000 lift. Makes it rough getting $$ on mods.

My opinion is, if you like the Jeep, keep it. Sure you will get more than what you paid for it, but if you ordered the exact same Jeep as you have now it will have a MSRP increase of about $8,000 more than what yours was. Then a lot of dealers aren't discounting their inventory. Sure it might sound like a good deal, but I bet it will either be a wash or cost. you more in the end. My Jeep is a 19 and was $56,085 new. That same Jeep for a 22 model with same options is almost $63,000. Only option I wish I had was front trail camera, but I love my Jeep and have no desire to trade or ever sell.

Sorry guys, I violated Rule 217 of this forum, which states “Pics or it didn’t happen.” I don't have kids, so my phone is full of pics of the Jeep and dogs.

Sup homies,

Clarifying the title, I'm testing the waters to see if I want to trade/sell my Jeep and wanted some help with asking price and value since I've never tried to sell a vehicle with more than a few mods. Just wanted to get some direction in what I should expect. KBB gave me a range of $46-$49k trade, $52k private party, but obviously that is w/o mods. Here are the specifics:

2018 Rubicon 4 door, 2.0T eTorque, just hit 25K miles, black, extended full warranty to a 4th year (can't remember mileage) so nearly 2 more warranty years based on when I purchased. Steering box has been updated. Basically has all options except leather and adaptive cc. I'm the only owner.

Mods include:
-Soft (Premium) and hard tops (painted hard top has Mopar headliner, also have Sunrider)
-Mopar 2" lift
-35" KO2s
-Mopar beadlocks
-Mopar tailgate reinforcement and oversize tire kit
-Mopar front steel bumper (w/ Smitty X20 10k synthetic winch, 6" Rigid 360s, Maximus 3 stinger and winch plate)
-Westin WJ2 rear bumper (w/ 4 Rigid led pods and 2 rock lights)
-JCR Classic rock sliders powdercoated
-Artec double A-pillar bracket with 4 Rigid DSS
-Teraflex adj steering stabilizer
-Teraflex front adj track bar
-Synergy rear adj track bar
-AEV diff covers
-Rough Country front/rear seat covers since purchase
-Tazer JL (only used to correct speedo and lower tpms threshold)
-Mopar all weather floor mats
-Windows tinted
-Pretty sure I still have every OEM part except the wheels and rock sliders

I've religiously maintained and waxed it, along with multiple applications of Bestop soft top protectant. Off-road has never been more intense than driving through the North GA woods, meaning maybe one minor scratch above the windshield chalked up to trail damage. I'm well aware you never get back what you put in in mods, but given the current market, I'm thinking 65K maximum if I sell myself. But let me know if that makes me an asshole.

Also it has 4-wheel drive.
Your KBB value will be lower with mods to most dealers, and more to maybe a few others (though even then, it probably just means you'd get high end of KBB rather than lower-mid end). I'd sell it privately. The only time I ever sold one where I got value for my mods was a dealer that happened to have a buyer walk in (who I met) that wanted my Jeep and they negotiated the sale. Even then, I had taken off most of the expensive stuff, and it was left with basically a small lift, 37's on stock wheels with spacers, and a cheap winch.

To be quite honest, and coming from modding nearly all of the 30+ vehicles I've owned and sold over the years, I don't see much in the "mod" list that adds any real increased value to your Jeep. Yes, they're all decent mods, but soft top adds maybe a few hundred in value, wheels & tires, not much as the vehicle has to have wheels & tires, diff covers - nothing, seat covers - nothing, all weather floor mats - nothing, windows tinted - nothing, & maybe a couple hundred for the track bar upgrades, and the front bumper with winch maybe a couple hundred. So realistically, I don't see an '18 up anywhere near $55 - $60k. One can build a brand new '22 Extreme Recon equipped very similar to yours for $55 - $57k.

Our '16 JKU that I just sold privately 2 weeks ago had $7,500 in modifications/accessories similar to many you have listed above. Kbb private party was ~$35k, without mods. I listed the Jeep for $37k and sold it within an hour of posting. Dealers were offering between $30-$33k.

I would use Autotrader to help you decide on a price. I have used it both sell and buy vehicles. I felt like I received the best price for the Corvette Z06 Convertible I sold. I used it to purchase my 2019 Jeep used 7,000 miles in 2019 for $16000 off MSRP.

I did take a look at AT. Here's a snapshot of some of the Jeeps closest to mine, but no mods other than wheels and tires on the first two. Maybe $65k was a bit optimistic.

Those asking prices on the Saharas are ridiculous, but then I saw it was Hendrick, so it makes sense.

A quick nationwide autotrader search shows 2018 JLUR with under 30k mi ranging in price from about $38k - $65k. Pricing it around $50k might be the sweet spot.

Are you in a hurry to sell? If not start high and work your way down. It took three month to sell the Z06.

Not at all. I’m not even sure I want to, just wanted to see about what I could expect if I did.

What people want for their Jeeps, and what they get for your Jeeps, are two very different numbers.
Just because a lot of dreamers list their Jeeps for $65k, doesn't mean that is what they are worth, or what similar ones have sold for.
But, if you think you can get that much, by all means, list it for that much.

I had $65k as the max I thought I could get. If I decided to sell it today I’d more than likely let it go for $55.
