Iv read about a dozen threads so hopefully someone has had the same issue.

Installed the mopar Aux buttons, no backlight, and no orange lights to buttons.

5amp fuse is good.

Tazer enabled and can see Aux settings in Uconnect.

Haven’t checked the orange wire connections yet.

Fuse block does not have fuses in f50 or f72.

Has anyone done this mod and doesn’t have fuses in f50 or f72 and still got it working?

Anything else I should check?

You won't have an ACCY fuses if this is an aftermarket install. All of your fuses are inline in the bundle run from the driver to passenger side (5 - 1 for each aux button and 1 for overall power). I assume that the fuse you checked was on the power line to the battery?

Well
I got them working but now I have the stop start error message.. the orange wire that goes back into the large harness doesn’t connect to anything does it?

Was a fuse blown?

When my radio went out and Jeep replaced it, they fubar'ed my orange wire. I assume they yanked it too hard and it came out of the harness. I had them fix it.

My stop/start didn't work while that orange wire was disconnected so I'd double check that connection.

There’s two orange wires from the harness. The orange wire that’s connected from the oem harness is connected solid. The other orange wire goes back into the large harness and doesn’t connect to anything. I wonder if I have the two orange wires from the Aux harness mixed up which is causing it since it’s all spliced now

It's been a while since I installed mine so take a look at the video below.

It should be the 13th wire as seen in this video.

I'm not sure what wire doesn't connect to anything? You create a bridge with the orange wires from/to the aux harness. One end connects into the original harness where you removed the orange wire. The other two ends (new aux wire, wire removed from harness) connect to the bridge connector.

the bold part. While looking at the other side of the connector, there is no pin that connects to the #13 wire we replaced

I may be misunderstanding you. I haven't taken mine apart in a while but I'm pretty sure the other connector has a corresponding wire.

The end of the wire you push into the grey harness is the pin after it clicks into place. Make sure you hear/feel the click when you push the new wire into the grey harness. You should see a pin for wire #13 after it is fully seated. You should see pins in the other holes for reference.

If I misunderstood you, maybe take a picture? My guess from your description is that the new wire into #13 isn't fully seated.

I went back and looked, I was looking at the other row by mistake. I pulled the replacement orange wire that were supposed to replace, spliced the receiving orange wire from the large grey harness and connected them with my own waterproof butt connectors.

here is where I screwed up…

1: I accidentally pulled the orange w/ white stripe wire initially - once I reconnected those wires and pulled the correct orange wire. My Aux buttons had power

2. I needed to reconnect the orange wire to the receiving end of the grey harness. - once I did that the ESS error went away. Jeep is all back up and running with working Aux buttons!
