I am seriously thinking about getting this replacement roof from junkyard, details are scarce, nobody knows where the vehicle came from, it's got the roof I want but the scratch sucks and the clips around the window are baffling me. It's too far away for me to inspect any the yard is treating me like the pain in the ass I must be? I just cannot figure out what or why it's got clips coming out of the gap by the glass?

Spacers for when the side glass was replaced. I should note that I've also seen them on new vehicles, as they are used for the same purpose when the hard top glass is initially installed. They are supposed to be removed, but sometimes get forgotten.

So are they probably just plastic that snaps off?
Yes. They are often left on in dealers lots. Twist them 90 degrees and they come right out. They are nothing to worry about.

That top may be fairly new if it still has some on it.

My Jeep is brand new and one side had two of the same clips.
