Noticed this leaking from the transmission housing today after driving to work. I'm not able to see exactly where it's coming from just running off the housing. I did have the 19-A recall performed about 1,800 miles ago if this is possibly related. Fluid is slightly warm, no smell, and a little silky feeling. Already have an appointment at the dealership on July 1st to re-look at the clutch performance just wondering if I need to escalate this. Thanks!

The only thing that could run off the housing from up-top is oil or coolant, usually from a leaking oil filter housing.

That does not look like oil...Possibly leaking coolant and the dealer simply refilled with water?

Appreciate the responses. Definitely isn't oil and my coolant level is fine. I'm thinking water but from where? Was about 75 degrees this morning with around 78% humidity so I ran the window defroster most of the way to keep the window clear. Is this possibly some A/C evap dumping out somewhere?

AC dumps out around there. Your ZF 8 speed fluid would be green and slick.

that looks like coolant. its purple in color when you zoom in on the picture. the internal cooler in the intake manifold is probably leaking. It is a very well known issue. it typically runs down the transmission on the passenger side if i remember correctly. and a pain in the as* to replace. keep a good eye on the coolant level until you get to the dealer for inspection. and if it was from the recall it would be draining from the inspection port or the tail shaft at the junction of the transferase and transmission

Drove home in 90 degrees, no issues. Coolant level is still optimal. I'm thinking it was some kind of A/C condensation issue this morning.

Put a white sheet of paper under there to catch some of it. Color will tell at least part of what it is or isn't.

It hasn't happened again. But testing a theory I also haven't ran any climate control/ defrost.
