Did you check fuses? My dash and gear lights went out then my tail and now my low beams do not work. Any ideas on what it could be or how I could fix it? thank you
Stuff like this worries me about modern cars… What’s the modern version of pulling the 8 track and pushing it off the cliff saying? Its funny. I was thinking about having the OP start by testing for power at the switches and working down to the lights.
But then I realized that this skill is now useless with vehicles where everything is controlled by the CAN Bus. Ha.
I ran into some circuitry hell when I had a short to ground on a tag light I had tapped off of the passenger side tail. Park lights on pass side went out. Wouldn't come back. Fuses were good.the only thing that those things have in common, to my knowledge, is they are all driven by the body control module (BCM). It could be a low voltage issue, but usually that will cause the canbus to go haywire and all sorts of things go weird at the same time.
Just the lights failing, to me, could only be the BCM failing... or possibly a bad ground.
Also, what does your dash say? When a light goes out, the BCM will notice that the circuit current draw will be not right and will flash a message on the dash. Another thought, if you have a Bluetooth OBDII adapter and JSCAN on your phone, you can scan for codes or even go into the BCM and command different things to turn on for testing.
When you say LED, do you mean aftermarket LED?My headlights and taillights are LED The rest that has gone out is stock. It’s so strange my high beams still work
Oh, you are in the wrong forum. This is the 2018+ JL forum, where problems like these are wayyyy different.Yes I have a TJ
