Yes I already have the heated steering wheel, I’m interested in finding a mall crawler leather version from 2023 off eBay, and install. I also have adaptive cruise, hoping a non adaptive cruise wheel could be modified by simply swapping buttons, or is that a whole mother can of worms. Is this a different clock spring as well, is that an easy swap?

When you say one that is different for the hard and soft top and heated steering wheel, are you saying there are three different versions? I've been searching for locations to purchase the heated steering wheel clock spring, but I keep coming up empty. Mostly just looking for prices right now.

Yes, at least four variants, softop, softop with heated wheel, hardtop, and hardtop with heated wheel. The softop/hardtop issue is the rear window washer switch.

I “believe” all the switches in the steering wheel are handled through Canbus signals so swapping over the controls for the ACC should be all that is necessary.

Hoping it’s a one wire canbus issue, can’t see a clockspring with what 20 plus contacts for all the drive by wire stuff.

Any chance somebody has the part number for the 21 gladiator with Heated Steering Wheel? It seems like clocksprings are high value/low volume parts. I cannot find what I might need anywhere. To include Mopar part sites.

Popping back in as I have an intact clockspring now and want to start the wiring bit - could one of you guys that has done that bit chime in? I'm curious what gauge wiring you used, if the connector to the clockspring was difficult to pry apart and add them, and if any special tools or cable tips were needed in this connector, the canbus one or the two in the footwells. Hopefully I can get that bit of harnessing squared away and get the wheel warm before fall - not sure if I'm getting to the seats yet as I'd also like to add some aftermarket heaters to the rear and possibly reskin with leather, so it may wait until I can do it in one shot.

I have a heated steering wheel from a 21 4XE. Will it work on my 2018 JL Sahara that came with a heated steering wheel?

I wonder if I can control my currently installed aftermarket (dorman) heated seat pads with the factory switches. I'm guessing these work with just a 0-12v signal?

This tread makes me very happy that I opted for the cold weather group from the factory. It seems like quite a bargain given the cost of the parts and the time invested. I’m glad to know that technically adept and motivated folks can do it after the fact though.
Just to agree and chime in for those of you contemplating buying another Jeep.

The heated seats and steering wheel are a great option. I'm not sure how I found a model with them (rarely offered in Phoenix) but I still use them on cold mornings--which occur 2-3 months here. I also have a house in the mountains and forest at 7,400 altitude where they are obviously used a lot.

I would easily take these over adaptive cruise control and a high end stereo system.

Hello - I can't agree more. I traded in my Ecodeisel Rubican Gladiator with all the bells and whistles for a used 2018 JL. (Teenage daughter turned 16 and I still need to get her a vehicle... yes, she wants a jeep).

Here is what I upgraded so far...

LED headlights and fog lights. This was my first priority. I couldn't believe how bad the halogen lights are or my night vision is terriable with age. I was spoiled with the LEDs on the gladiator. I also changed out the DRL and taillights to LED to make it look complete.

Oracle reverse bumper lights. Again, spoiled with the Gladiator because the backup lights are so much better. Lights are in but went the lazy way and bought the wiring harness for the lights. Still waiting for that item to be delivered.

7 to 8.4 uconnect - this was a huge win. Bigger picture = better to see backup camera, maps, etc. (Refer back to old eyes in the previous paragraph.

What I still need to do...

Seat heater install! I do not miss the heated steering wheel as much. Yes, it was nice on super cold days, but I found that it was too hot and I would turn it off once the vehicle got to temperature. We live southern mass so our winters are not that cold.

I can't emphasize enough how much I miss the heated seats. Especially on those chilly summer nights with the cool coastal breeze. I started to collect all of the parts (minus the heated wheel stuff. I can do that next fall) and found out that the heated seat pads are no longer available. Shout out to Benny from All Mopar Parts to find an alternative solution. You now need to buy the foam seat and heating pad, which jumps the price up quite a bit. I am waiting on those parts now.

I did purchase the wiring harness from Infotainmnet so that I didn't need to create the harness. 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL Gladiator JT Heated Seats & Steering Wheel Interface. It arrived today, so wondering if anyone did the seat install with this harness and how they connected the relays. Hoping to get this installed next week and start to enjoy the heated seats again!

I'm not sure if anyone in this thread has used this, that may be a relatively new offering from Infotainment. I think people in this thread have built their own harnesses, but this would be a huge boon for anyone that doesn't want to get into the weeds with all of that (myself included).

In the linked page you supplied, they have a diagram for where everything in the harness would go. You'd need to have all of the other heated seat and/or steering wheel components (lists earlier in this thread to reference).

Thats an interesting harness execution, at first I thought it was expensive but looking closer with that harness you don’t need the seat jumpers so that is a pretty good savings. That harness also saves quite a bit of work inserting all the terminals. As for power to the relay, I would make sure you use a good power supply as the factory system uses three 20 amp fuses to power the them. Overall a pretty good deal.

That's my main worry - I already have a few things running off one of those inline taps that harness uses. No issues yet, but not sure if it could feed my footwell lights, multiple USB devices, and then this.

The three fused power wires are in the connector in the passenger foot well, you could use those to power this or other accessories that are on ignition power. Otherwise I think I would run a fused power wire through the firewall to the z case fuse terminals for them. You would have a dedicated circuit for them then.
