Steering wheel audio controls: can they be disabled?

The only use my steering wheel controls get are when I accidentally touch one during a turn, which is a royal pain. Has anyone figured out how to turn them off?

I bet one of the CAN bus hackers or the Tazer folks could figure this out.

I made it, just don know how. Maby I forgot some xonnector to plug in to car stereo. But they are dead. I need to figure it out and make them work again. If I will be sucessfull I will let you know.

By now I’ve gotten used to them, and in fact they’re handy when my screen locks up, which happened last weekend.

so I tripple chcecjk the radio connectors and also steering wheeel connectors.they are dead.... anyone have wires for steering wheel?

Today I took the steering wheel apart again. I measured all the cables and switches, checked that everything is connected and the switches are functional. After reassembling it, it still doesn't work. I'm at my wits' end. I need to find out how the steering wheel ring and radio are connected. The buttons for controlling the phone, dashboard and cruise control work.
Could you please advise me if the switches for the right and left side have the same order number? What is the part number?

according this picture I should have another No. of switches, but it previously work.

@Cartman If you haven’t already, I’d suggest starting a new thread. Don’t know how many people will be paying attention to this old one.

You might have luck with a wiring diagram. This seems to be a useful starting point.
