Thats an interesting harness execution, at first I thought it was expensive but looking closer with that harness you don’t need the seat jumpers so that is a pretty good savings. That harness also saves quite a bit of work inserting all the terminals. As for power to the relay, I would make sure you use a good power supply as the factory system uses three 20 amp fuses to power the them. Overall a pretty good deal.

I agree... I was going to build the harness and found this one. I thought it was too much $ but after doing some simple math and getting a black friday code from Infotainment, it wasn't much more.

Hello - I can't agree more. I traded in my Ecodeisel Rubican Gladiator with all the bells and whistles for a used 2018 JL. (Teenage daughter turned 16 and I still need to get her a vehicle... yes, she wants a jeep).

Here is what I upgraded so far...

LED headlights and fog lights. This was my first priority. I couldn't believe how bad the halogen lights are or my night vision is terriable with age. I was spoiled with the LEDs on the gladiator. I also changed out the DRL and taillights to LED to make it look complete.

Oracle reverse bumper lights. Again, spoiled with the Gladiator because the backup lights are so much better. Lights are in but went the lazy way and bought the wiring harness for the lights. Still waiting for that item to be delivered.

7 to 8.4 uconnect - this was a huge win. Bigger picture = better to see backup camera, maps, etc. (Refer back to old eyes in the previous paragraph.

What I still need to do...

Seat heater install! I do not miss the heated steering wheel as much. Yes, it was nice on super cold days, but I found that it was too hot and I would turn it off once the vehicle got to temperature. We live southern mass so our winters are not that cold.

I can't emphasize enough how much I miss the heated seats. Especially on those chilly summer nights with the cool coastal breeze. I started to collect all of the parts (minus the heated wheel stuff. I can do that next fall) and found out that the heated seat pads are no longer available. Shout out to Benny from All Mopar Parts to find an alternative solution. You now need to buy the foam seat and heating pad, which jumps the price up quite a bit. I am waiting on those parts now.

I did purchase the wiring harness from Infotainmnet so that I didn't need to create the harness. 18-23 Jeep Wrangler JL Gladiator JT Heated Seats & Steering Wheel Interface. It arrived today, so wondering if anyone did the seat install with this harness and how they connected the relays. Hoping to get this installed next week and start to enjoy the heated seats again!
I need to know if this works. If it does, man I will be so happy. I bought a set of used cream leather seat from a totaled Sahara. Same year and trim as mine except I had the lame cloth seats. I already bought the cables that run from the seats to the main harness. If this is a one solution, then these are going back.

I don’t see any reason it won’t. I did find a cheaper solution for the SCCM, aka clock spring. The clock spring in my Gladiator went out and the cheapest SCCM I could find was on eBay, $289. But looking at the spare I have from upgrading my Wrangler the clock spring is separate from the levers section and found a clock spring available separately for $144. Should be delivered today will report back how it works.

I haven't ordered the clock spring yet.

I received the cushion heated pad yesterday and also ordered the clockspring and used heated wheel. I figured it wasn't that much more for the heated wheel and I want to complete the project and start to enjoy the warm seats and wheel...

I went out this morning to plan my attack, and I am totally stumped with this infotainment wiring harness. How the hell am I going to get the relays and fuse through the firewall to the battery. I know that I could run a wire, but I am trying to understand how infotainment planned the install. I don't think the design was to spend money on the harness and then also go and run a wire from the battery to the harness, but I will as a last resort!

I pulled the firewall plug on the driver's side and the hole isn't big enough for one relay let alone a two-pole relay. I also looked into going through the side of the dash, but have the same problem.

Also, there are two pins (orange and black) that I assume go to the clockspring. Any ideas were each one goes? RAMSTEEL's wires were blue and not black and orange.

I emailed infotainment last week, but they haven't responded. I am hoping to get this done by next weekend since I am on vacation next week.

If you add some pictures it would be massively helpful. I've got most of the components for mine ran in, so I could take a look at connector ends. There are other ways to get from the dash to the fuse box- I just tucked some wires between the door seal and cowl yesterday.

Okay great... I'll get some pics when I go back outside. I think my issue is that it's a wiring harness thats all taped together so it is a challenge to feed everything through tight spaces.

i'm thinking that the easiest way is going to be to leave the harness inside the dash and run a power wire from the battery to the power tap on the harness.

Their diagram is odd because it almost looks like they bypass a lot of the OE stuff. The wiring for the seat heaters for instance, they say is run directly to the cushion - so possibly the upgraded seat harness from factory-heat-equipped JLs is bypassed?

I'm attaching a color coded version and some pics from earlier in the thread.

My guess is those red circled wires above need to be run to the clockspring connector to power the heated wheel, but not sure.

This is the comfort control module you'll need, part numbers back in the thread. The four cables get plugged in where the pigtail is circled.

This is the OE seat harness that most have used. It appears the infotainment harness replaces those red circled connectors with it's own wiring to preclude you having to buy it.

Okay… driver side cowel didn’t work. The length of harness from battery to heat module wasn’t long enough.

Tried the firewall again… not going through there with the relays either.

My guess is the relays need to stay in the hood area and the rest of it gets run through the firewall? Not sure honestly, it's kind of odd how they have it setup to use the 12v cig lighter power tap but also want you to run another power cable to switched/battery power. They didn't provide any real guide I take it?

also... this connect which i assume powers the heated wheel is like 10ft long. Seems like you could run it back to the rear cargo area outlet (which I am not doing). i know the engineers had a specific way to run all this... just can't figure it out yet.

Nope - I thought it would have something.

I think the 12v cig lighter tap is just to turn on the relays to power the system, I don’t think the cigarette lighter port has enough capacity to run the system so it just triggers the relays when the key is on. I would run one fuses power wire to the battery or z case fuse array, leave the rest of the wiring under the dash.

The two loose wires that are not labeled are for the wheel, they need to be inserted into the connector for the clock spring, cavity’s 3 and 4, this is the connector sheathed in yellow. You’ll have to take it out of the sheath to insert them. I would figure the black wire is the “return”. It matters which wire goes where. I would run the seat wires under the center console and out to the side under the seats.

So, we are in luck today. I am finally putting the heated wheel in my Jeep. It does matter where the two wires go in the clock spring connector. Cavity 3 in C4 of the comfort module goes to cavity 3 in the clock spring connector and 4 goes to 4. You will need to look at the C4 connector to figure out which is feed and which is return. Cavity 3 is the feed wire and cavity 4 is the return.

4 is the greenish connector on the bottom and cavity 3 is top right, 4 is top left in the photo below.
