I ordered my 23 JLU Willys XR 2.0T in Sting Gray. I also opted not to get a Mopar headliner because I wanted a better aftermarket headliner.

I'm planning on ordering a HotHeads headliner this weekend. My first thought was to get it in black, as the interior is black. But they have a couple color choices, to include a dark gray (graphite). So now I'm kinda torn which way to go. I think the graphite would look good against the black interior and the Sting Gray color.

So has anyone here ordered a HotHeads headliner in a color other than black? Are you happy with your choice? Anyone have a black interior and got the black headliner and thought it was too much black inside?

I have a 2023 Sport S in Sting Gray and also opted for the aftermarket headliner. Mine is gray and looks great. Super happy with it. Since it only fits in the recessed section of the roof, I think black or gray would look okay because you still do see some white. It’s not solid. I bought mine from extreme terrain and there are several pictures and reviews of how it looks!!

Ok... so I just put in an order for the headliner, side window things, and the sound assassin strips. In the Graphite color. We'll see how it looks! I'll post pictures.

It came to $534 (10% off for Memorial Day and free shipping).

I have a white JL & ordered the grey. Having all they black overhead would have given a very closed feeling to the interior. The grey looks just like the sky ( I live in Seattle), and it's not so light (or dark) that the dust shows much.

I have the graphite color with black Jeep interior. Looks great. I like the contrast.

I was torn between the gray and the graphite. It was kinda hard to tell the difference in how it would look from the webpage, but I had to choose one so I went with the graphite. We'll see how it looks!

The package should be delivered today or tomorrow. I'll try and get them installed next week, and I'll take some pictures.

It'll look good. I have the black Mopar headliner in mine. I bought it off the lot that way, or I would have opted for another brand.

Headliner arrived last night. A few comments:

1. It came extremely well packaged and labeled. Kudos to HotHeads.

2. When I opened the box in the house, I thought the panels were quite dark (graphite gray). But when I took one outside to take a picture, it wasn't too dark. I'm liking it - it'll look good in the Jeep. I don't think I would have wanted to go any lighter in color.

Now I just need to get a warm day to install (I'm in SW WA - temp today might get up into the 60's - 80's predicted for Tuesday). HotHeads does have instructions for installing in cold weather though. There are also good YouTube videos on installing this headliner that I need to rewatch before doing the install.

I'll be driving this Jeep from WA to FL (and back) later this summer, and I'm hoping it'll make a difference both in inside temp and sound deadening. We'll see!

So today it was kinda warm; enough so I could get started with the install. I got the sound assassin strips in (had a couple left over actually), and then I started with the panels.

So far so good. Followed the instructions to use the blue painter's tape so I'd know where to push up on the panels. Also a couple days ago I had done the scuff and acetone prep of the top in preparation of installing the panels.

Tomorrow I'll do the rear window surrounds, and then take some pictures. But so far it looks great! We'll see if I notice any difference in sound or temp when I drive it to work this afternoon.

I took my wife (best wife in the world) out to see my handywork for the day with the Jeep. She touched the headliner and basically said "Great - now you'll be telling folks again not to touch the ceiling because you'll get stains on it". I was like "Yeah, but we don't have little kids living with us anymore with greasy fingers". She also asked how much it cost, and I said "You don't want to know". She said she'll find out when the credit card bill comes in, and I responded, "But I won't be there as you're initially looking at the bill". And then she made some comment about I could have just gone to Joanne Fabrics and got some cloth and glued it to the ceiling.

It's a Jeep thing - some folks (even spouses) don't understand.

I got the grey ones for my white JLU. I think they look pretty good and no problems after a few years of being in there.

Today I put in the rear side window surrounds and am calling this project done. I am very pleased with how it turned out. I don't have the strong odor from the headliner that some folks have commented on.

I am happy I went with the graphite color instead of black. It goes great with the Sting Gray color of the Jeep. I think Hot Head's gray color might have been a little too light a gray color for my taste. I'm also glad I got the rear side window surrounds. I think it completes the headliner - I would recommend spending the extra for the side window surrounds.

I've only driven the Jeep five miles so far with the Hot Heads installed - can't really comment on any noise reduction or temp improvement.

I still have the blue painter's tape on the panels in case we have another warm-ish day (this is SW WA - we're lucky to get that in June) I can do one more round of pressing up on the adhesive to make sure it is well attached (it seems to be well attached as it is now).

I'm leaning toward the Graphite as well for our Willys. I received the samples from HotHeads today and took a couple pictures with the next to the seat fabric and the new dash fabric. The colors look washed out in the pictures being as it was in direct sun, but none of the colors match either perfectly, but the Graphite seems to be the best compromise! It's my wife's Jeep, so the ultimate decision will be up to her...
