Some turn off collision warning system on their JL or JT Jeeps. I find early morning and at night drives... especially in this time of season a safety feature for deer and my Jeep. A foggy morning deer incident was avoided. Got mobbed by a mamma deer and young'un. Woke me up but my co worker who was behind me thought it was a one of. They headed on a little faster on hwy only to be attacked by a 6 point buck.

So if anyone is in deer country think of using your collision warning with active braking system.

FWIW, I've never had Forward Collision Warning w/ Active Braking engage without good reason.

One time, even though I was quite awake and aware, it engaged the brakes a fraction of a second before I did. Just at that moment when my brain registered that I need to brake but I only barely started to move my foot off the accelerator. It felt oddly telepathic.

That one isn't all that bad.

I never considered this and I drive routinely on rural roads and sometimes at night. Thanks OP! Another reason to be happy with my jeep

The first car decided to abruptly brake check the car in front me and I skidded to a stop about 2 inches from that car‘s rear bumper. I was fully awake after that and gave them a wide berth.

if my mom gave me a wide birth my head wouldnt be shaped the way it is.

yet another good example though. same with oncoming traffic that is passing etc. im suddenly liking this feature more.

I was awake but having the young'un follow undecidedly in slow fashion delayed my recarion enough to get an adrenaline rush wake up call.

It's an option... your rear view mirror is mounted on a box that hides the system. I assume the mirror is lower because of it.

Eh, don’t jinx yourself.

I’ve hit deer after it got hit by a truck going in the opposite direction. Jumped out, got it. Damn thing flew over the double yellow and ended up right in my path.

Nah, i dont have this option. i was just looking for a jeep with manual winows & locks, i didn't even know this technology even existed.
